Make Firefox 4 look like Firefox 3 Video Transcript
You've downloaded the new Firefox 4 but you despise the interface? I'm Seth Rosenblatt for CNET and in this easy how-to video, I'll show you how to make your Firefox 4 look like Firefox 3. Why you'd wanna go from Firefox 4 to 3 is a different story entirely, but I'm not here to judge, I'm here to help. Free of charge. So, first, go to the Mozilla add-on site and search for Firefox 3 theme for Firefox. It will be the first one that appears. Install the Firefox 3 theme for Firefox. Yeah, it feels a little like cheating, but it takes care of a lot of the heavy lifting. If you don't see the large back button, you may have to go to the Customize menu and hit "Restore Default Set." Next, replace the menu button with the traditional menu bar by right clicking on the navigation bar and choosing menu bar, then go to View and uncheck "Tabs On Top." Last, go to View and activate the new add-on bar to replace the status bar. If that's not enough status bar love for you, you can install the Status-4-Evar add-on to give you a replacement status bar with more powers than the original, and, voila, Firefox 4 made to look like Firefox 3. Personally, I really like the new layout, especially the tabs on top and the menu button, but part of the point of Firefox is that you can make it do your bidding.
