Mailbag Thanksgiving lovermail special Video Transcript
Hello, everyone! I?m Molly Wood and welcome to the CNET Mailbag, the show where we read all of your emails, pass along your feedback to the appropriate parties, and then turn your misspellings into funny Internet video. And by the way, happy early Thanksgiving to those of you in the U.S.! It?s time for our annual Thanksgiving special, where I pick out the handful of emails with ?thank you? in the subject or body, and read them because they make us feel great. Here goes. Michael writes this: I just want to say that CNET Conversations is absolutely amazing. I caught two of them, the one with Steve Ballmer and Eric Schmidt, and they were incredible. I didn't even notice that the interview was upwards twenty minutes ? because it was done so well and the questions and answers were that entertaining! It's such a refreshing pace opposed to the how-tos and such -- not that I don't appreciate them! Please make sure to give Ina Fried and Tom Krazit my kudos for their job well done, as well. Thank you, Michael! And a lot of you were grateful for Eric Franklin?s always excellent take on monitor review videos. Dillon says: I just wanted to say how great Eric Franklin's review of the Dell UltraSharp U2410 monitor was! A comprehensive review filled with excellent humor - this is why I love cnet. Keep up the good work Eric (and everyone else)! Personally, I think Kent German stole the show. Ahh, genius. Ok, let?s keep the thank-you train rolling! Brian says: Molly, The last two episodes of your Buzz Report queued up in my iTunes playlist because I haven't had a chance to watch them due to loads and loads of projects and exams to study for as the semester nears its end, but after I watched them it reminded me that there are still joys in life as your witty remarks and humorous comments made me literally laugh out loud. Thank you for being awesome, Thank you for the best email EVER, Brian. And Mohammed writes in with one for Tom. He says: My LCD TV stopped working and I found out my warranty had expired a couple months ago. I remembered the video about diy TV repair Tom Merritt did a while ago. I was able to repair the TV and the best part was that it cost me $3 for a capacitor (including shipping). Please let Tom know how helpful it was. Ok, that is huge, Mohammed, because that huge TV sat in Tom?s office for MONTHS and we made fun of him about it constantly ? and it turns out, it was all worth it. He will be THRILLED. And here?s an unexpected thanks ? for the TV.com app! Yeah! Seriously! Justin writes: I was watching one of Tom Merritt's Top 5 segments (the one about free software) and wanted to revisit it today at work. Sadly, my company's firewall blocks streaming video including cnet TV. Thankfully, the tv.com iPhone app saved the day! I was able to find the software Tom mentioned and finish my project on schedule! Way to go cnet! That sounds kind of like a commercial for CNET. Are you for hire, Justin? And finally, another unexpected gem in the middle of a kind of a lot of dislike of our new CNET toolbar, which I?ll try to address next time. But I was happy that Ainslie said: Hi Molly, I like that new toolbar at the bottom of the screen. It makes it easier to download the new software from techtraker. It's also easier to access the features of cnet.com. Thanks , Ainslie. And finally, a special Thanksgiving version of our segment, Mail for Andy Rooney. Yeah! Kristi said: Thank you to Andy Rooney for the piece about war. I work for an organization helping military families. I would gladly be unemployed for peace in this world. And that?s about as good as it gets. Ok, that?s it for the feelgood Mailbag episode of the year. Thank YOU for watching and writing in, and please keep your feedback and questions coming! Email me at Mailbag@cnet.com, or send your snail mail to 235 2nd St., San Francisco, CA, 94105. Thanks for watching, everyone.
