>> Justin Yu: Hey guys. It's Justin Yu here, Associate Editor for CNET.com, and this is a first look at the Logitech wireless desktop MK700 keyboard and mouse combo. Now, it does not include Logitech's new unify USB dongle technology, but it is an excellent deal for $100 if you're looking to replace your old stock devices. Now, the MK700 joins the rest of Logitech's input device line, but this $100 guy is the first one to get Logitech's in-curve keyboard design. So take a look closer here, and you'll see that the keys themselves are actually concave in the center and slowly curve up at the ends. Another design to fit the curves of your fingertips and when combined with a padded wrist rest down here, it actually makes for a pretty comfortable typing experience. Now, you also get a tiny one-line LCD up top here that shows you battery life and a few other features, but it's kind of pointless and adds extra bulk. Still, it's not really that big of a deal. Now, the mouse is a pared-down version of the Logitech's professional mouse MX, but lefties will be disappointed to see that it's sculpted to fit right-hand users only. Sorry lefties. And the big idea, though, here is what Logitech calls hyper-fast scrolling. Now, if you flip the mouse over, you can see a tiny switch here that let's you physically tune in the sensitivity of the scroll dial. You can also switch it between fully smooth and not scrolling, which is pretty cool, but too bad it's underneath the mouse. Now, the battery and keyboard are, of course, wireless, and use a single USB dongle for connectivity. Again, no unifying technology here. Finally, both units are powered by two AA batteries that Logitech claims will power the keyboard for three years and the mouse for one year. That's pretty impressive although we weren't able to actually put it to the test. Now, you can read all of our details in the Full Review, but that's going to do it for me. I'm Justin Yu, and you just took a first look at the Logitech MK700 wireless keyboard and mouse combo. Thanks for watching. [ Music ]

Logitech Wireless Desktop MK700 Keyboard and Laser Mouse Review
The good: "Incurve" key design and cushioned palm rest alleviate wrist irritation; impressive battery life claims (three years for keyboard, one for mouse); Hyper-fast scroll dial offers incremental fluidity; inexpensive.
The bad: Doesn't use Logitech's new Unifying USB receiver or Darkfield laser sensor; Hyper-fast scroll dial inconveniently located underneath the mouse; lefties can't use the sculpted mouse; simple LCD screen adds unnecessary bulk to the keyboard design.
The bottom line: Although it's not our favorite keyboard and mouse combination, the Logitech Wireless Desktop MK700 set earns our recommendation for its comfortable "Incurve" key design, quick scrolling mouse, and impressive battery life. If you're looking to upgrade your input devices and are on a budget, this $100 combination deserves your attention.
