>> David Carnoy: I'm David Carnoy Executive Editor for cnet.com and I'm here with the Logitech Z320 PC speakers. These compact speakers are part of Logitech's 2009 line of PC speakers. This model doesn't come with a subwoofer although there is a model the Z323 that does have a subwoofer. These are classy looking speakers they have a high gloss black finish on the front. They are a little bit of a fingerprint magnet but they do look good. But one of the key features of these speakers is they have omni directional sound. They have both a driver on the front of a unit and the back of the unit if you turn it around. They're both 2 inch drivers and the sound comes from both the front, back and allegedly from the sides too kind of when you spread the sound around the room. Mostly your ear hears that it's firing towards you if you're sitting at your computer but if you have the speakers up against the wall they will fire against the wall and you will get some sound spread out through the room. In terms of connectivity there is a cord that is dedicated to your laptop or desktop PC but you can also attach an iPod or another audio device to that cord and there is a head phone jack on the right speaker that can also double as an auxiliary input so you can add other audio devices as well. In terms of sound quality we found these guys to be relatively decent at their price point of $70. They offer decent clarity but the base is just a little bit thin, there's no oomph there. It is worth noting there is no speaker grill that covers the drivers so if you do have a young child who does like to poke at things you'll probably want to keep [background music ] your speakers away from him or her. I'm David Carnoy and that's the Z320 PC speaker system from Logitech. [ Music ]

Logitech Speaker System Z320 Review

The good: Clean, classy design; decent clarity and sound quality; headphone jack/auxiliary input; drivers on the front and back of the speakers deliver omnidirectional sound.

The bad: Bass is a little thin (lacks oomph).

The bottom line: Logitech's Speaker System Z320 offers decent but unspectacular sound at a reasonable price point.
