>> I'm John Falcone, Senior Editor at CNET.com and this is the Logitech PlayGear Pocket Lite. It's a carrying case for the Nintendo DS Lite based on the company's PlayGear pocket case for the PSP. In addition to space for holding up to four DS games, beyond the ones that are already inside the DS itself; the PlayGear Pocket Lite has cutouts around the edges, so the buttons, cartridge slots, stylus, power, and headphone jacks all remain available. The other advantage is that it's customizable. The phone padding is removable and you can place any photo or printout you'd like to be visible through the clear plastic. Logitech includes a template to make it easy as possible. All in all the PlayGear Pocket Lite is a fine case for the DS Lite. The problem is that the DS Lite is already pretty durable. By making a clamshell inside of a clamshell and dramatically increasing the bulk of your DS it doesn't add a lot to the equation. So this case is recommended more for those who need the extreme shock protection, extra game capacity or who really enjoy the customization options. Logitech PlayGear Pocket Lite (DS) Review
The good: Durable, solid plastic case for Nintendo DS Lite; includes space for storing four DS games; provides access to all ports and controls; improves DS ergonomics for those with larger hands; inexpensive.
The bad: Adds considerable bulk; DS Lite clamshell design precludes the need for a case.
The bottom line: The Logitech PlayGear Pocket Lite is a perfectly good case for the DS Lite, but many will find it to be unnecessary overkill for the already durable Nintendo handheld.
