Hi, I'm Justin Yu, associate editor for CNET.com with a first look at the Logitech C510 HD webcam. So most of today's systems come with one built-in but if you're shopping for an aftermarket webcam for video chats and self portraits, the Logitech HD webcam C510 earns our recommendation. Techy details include a 2-megapixel sensor that shoots 8 megapixel snapshots and 720p HD widescreen video but Logitech does advise a minimum 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 processor, 2 gigs of memory and at least 200 megs of storage space to work properly. The Logitech webcam software that comes in the box is easy to install and actually a lot of fun to use thanks to graphical overlays that stretch and distort your face carnival style. We tested the webcam using several video chat programs like Skype, Google Chat, Yahoo! Chat and Windows Live Messenger with no hiccups during installation, but video did sometimes get choppy at that 720p setting. That said, you should check out Logitech's system requirements before you buy. But once you have all that sorted out, we're sure you'll be happy with the C510's excellent video quality and host of extra features.
