>> The BlackBerry Storm launches tomorrow. Verizon invited us to preview the device on Tuesday and here it is. Unfortunately I can't show it to you or discuss any details about it until tomorrow because I have agreed to the embargo. So you'll have to tune in tomorrow to get a closer look. Sorry to be such a tease -- not really. You can now translate your LinkedIn profile in 41 different languages. LinkedIn is a social networking site for business. Your profiles won't be translated automatically though, you have to choose which languages you want it to be translated into for other viewers. Also starting tomorrow LinkedIn will make company profiles public. This means if you search for a company on Google or Yahoo, you'll be guided to the company's LinkedIn page. Over 160,000 company profiles are currently available on LinkedIn. Looks like poor Yahoo cannot get a break. The search giant is being sued by DivX Networks over a botched deal. The deal was that when users downloaded the DivX Video Codecs software it would come bundled with co-branded versions of Yahoo's toolbar, Internet Explorer 7 and other Yahoo services. DivX has had to lower its revenue projections for the year over this failed deal. Yahoo says that they are of course disappointed in DivX's decision to sue rather than renegotiate. National Geographic is working with game publishers to launch their own video games for consoles, handhelds and the PC. The games will cover a broad range of themes across National Geographic's properties and the first title 'Herod's Lost Tomb' is out now for the PC and the iPhone. The company is working hard with Namco Bandai to release games for the Wii and PS3. I can't say hard core gamers will really line up for this, but if ever there was a video game franchise that would have parents more excited than kids, this would be it. In case you haven't noticed, touchscreen phones are in. AT&T and LG launched yet another one this week called the LG Incite. This is for U.S. customers only. It's a Windows Mobile phone and it has Wi-Fi, AT&T video share, GPS, Bluetooth and a 3-megapixel camera. It also has a keyboard and landscape mode. It's available on AT&T now for a $199 with the two-year agreement and the mailing rebate. The Zune just got cheaper. Across the board, the 4, 8 and 16-gig models dropped in price between 10 and $30. The accessories, such as the car pack or dock pack also got a price cut. Plus there's a new Zune firmware upgrade out and it comes with four free games. Apple never does that. I'm just saying. Zune firmware 3.1 comes with Checkers, Sudoku, Space Battle and the multiplayer version of Texas Hold'em. The firmware also updates Zune's Social making it slightly easier to navigate, plus there's a new like-minded listeners function that lets you see how compatible your music taste are with your friends. Microsoft also says that they upgraded stability and performance in the software and improved synch-reporting. To get the upgrade, head on over to zune.net. We knew the LG Prada II was on its way, but what we didn't know is that it will be paired with a fairly fabulous Bluetooth watch. I can't tell if the watch actually comes with the phone or if it's extra, but the Prada has a reputation for being outrageously expensive, so I'm guessing the watch is not a freebie. The Prada II is just about ready to launch in Europe, so we should have more details soon. Google has teamed up with Life Magazine to create the most extensive library of historical images on the web. Life will of course supply the images and Google will host them in Google Image search allowing users to browse scanned images from events, such as the Kennedy assassination or the Challenger Explosion. Photos will date back to the 1750's and some of them have never been made public before. They will be available for purchase in high res if you wanna print and frame them. I like this kind of thing. Yahoo already does something similar with Flickr's Library of Congress album which I really enjoyed.
