>> Verizon has its eyes set on Alltel, Google gets sued by Louis Vuitton and I get to roll play with Diggnation's Alex Albrecht. It's Thursday, June 5th, I'm Natali Del Conte and it's time to get loaded. [ Background Music ]

>> Rumors started flying around yesterday but Verizon might be set to acquire Alltel. The New York Times is reporting that this deal is very near happening and the purchase price will be 27 billion dollars. This would make Verizon the largest carrier in the US pushing AT and T the number two. It would also be a pretty easy merger since both companies run on the same CDMA network. As expected, no one from either company would comment which probably means it's all true. Yahoo announced several things this week, I'm gonna try and sum up. The first one is that the company will sell display advertising for Wal-Mart's website. They also announced a new deal with our parent company CBS to host the network's videos loaded on yahoo. These are videos from the CBS audience network that offer short-form clips from CBS programming. Lastly, Yahoo has also announced an API for its male contacts so that external developers can build applications that use Yahoo members' list of contacts. I keep most of my personal contact to my Yahoo mail so I am excited to see what may come of it. [ Background Sound ]

>> Google has a few things to say this week as well. First off, Google gadgets now work with Linux. These are many applications that you put on your desktop. Previously, they only work with Mac or Windows. Also, Google is in a very interesting copyright dispute with Louis Vuitton, the designer. Louis Vuitton said that Google sells key word advertising for search terms such as Louis Vuitton fakes and Louis Vuitton replicas. The designer says that this is trademark violation. France's highest court agreed so Google appealed. The case will now go to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. What do you think of this, should Google be able to profit from Adword revenue on knock off? Tell me what you think at loaded@cnettv.com. [ Background Sound ]

>> AT&T's mobile network is getting a little steroid boost this week. The company claims to be giving its 3G network at 20 percent increase in speed while laptop card customers can expect a 50 percent increase in speed. I suspect they're doing this just in time for the 3G iPhone because they don't want anyone to say, "Yeah the new iPhone is great but AT&T network is a piss. They experienced that last year. No doubt it was embarrassing. We can expect the faster speeds by the end of June. [ Background Sound ]

>> The popular web show Diggnation had its first live filming in New York last night. It was pretty rowdy but before the show, Alex Albrecht stopped in for chat and we did our best to make him feel at home. Take a look. [ Background Sound ]

>> I thought that maybe since you were coming to do Loaded you might assume that we will give you alcohol but it's a family show, so I got you the coffee.

>> Which is amazing by the way?

>> Yeah

>> Thank you so much.

>> So you can get loaded on caffeine. How do you prepare for something that delica [phonetics] rocking routine where you have someone rubbing your shoulders.

>> You know--

>> Gets smacked in the face.

>> That's sounds amazing.

>> I'll do it if you want.

>> Really.

>> I'm available tonight.

>> Wow! That would be amazing and we should put that on You Tube. Honestly, I think the biggest misconception about our show is that there's any preparation 'cause once we've picked the stories, the rest is just that's it.

>> I wanna ask you a little bit about this sort of convergence of online TV, do you see them as two different things, or do you see them as coming together?

>> For us, during...right at the start, we thought we're gonna see huge bump in our numbers you know, well, everybody wants to watch TV, it's gotta go well I guess I got to watch something.

>> Right, might as well.

>> Might as well. Watch it! But that didn't really happen I mean I think most people who are TV watchers when you take with the TV, they just go "that sucks".

>> So are you going to Libby's?

>> I am, why? I want to.

>> Ah! Congratulations. I didn't know that approach.

>> I know, I sent you a press brief.

>> Sorry.

>> On my self. [Laughs]

>> Okay. Well, I will see you at the Libby's then. Thank you for stopping by and doing a pro-Diggnation.

>> See you at the show, right?

>> Yes, you will. Get up. [ Background Sound ]

>> You can watch the live episode at Diggnation.com. [ Background Sound ]

>> The iPhone has a new country, Japan. SoftBank, Japan's third largest carrier will begin offering the iPhone later this year. This will be an interesting place for the iPhone to land because the cellphone market there is already pretty advanced and diverse. They already have phones with fast browsing and multi media. In fact last week on planet CNET, I saw a phone that transformed itself into a robot and expressed itself using artificial intelligence. Would you rather have a transformer phone or an iPhone? I think the answer is pretty obvious, the robot of course. [ Background Sound ]

>> EA's bid for Take-Two Interactive has been stopped. The company said that they would wait to make any move until regulators and the probe or 45 days fast phase on an FTC investigation. So Take-Two can relax and enjoy their Grand Theft Auto undisturbed for a bit longer. [ Background Sound ]

>> JetBlue has added more account to its in-flight e-mail service. Originally, the airliner only let you check Yahoo and BlackBerry mail aboard your flight but you can now check G-mail, AOL and Windows Live mail as well. You can also access Amazon if you feel like shopping but full-blown web browsing isn't ready yet. E-mail would be just fine though. I could spend an entire craft country flight answering e-mails and I still wouldn't get myself out of the state of bankruptcy that I'm in right now. If you were in to me I am sorry for delaying but I flying JetBlue next week to San Francisco so I'll try to get back to you then. [ Background Sound ]

>> Randall Bennett, one of the producers here on Loaded and my good friend will be leaving CNETTV tomorrow and his time here at CNET, Randall helped to develop and launch loaded with me and also pioneers 404 podcast. You may have seen him in numerous help and how-to videos. We're really gonna miss him around here but we wish him the very best of luck on his next career move. So we decide to give Randall a proper internet send off, a Rick roll. ^M00:05:32 [ Music ] ^M00:05:41

>> You can find the You Tube link to this silly video in today's Loaded page. [ Background Sound ]

>> Those are all your headlines for today and that wraps up your week of getting loaded but if you've missed any episodes, you can catch up at loaded@cnettv.com. Also, there are more internet week events here in New York all weekends so make sure you feel free to keep up with My Twitters; my user name is natalidelconte, all one word or tune on Monday for a wrap-up. Have a great weekend everyone. I'm Natali Del Conte with CNETTV and you've just been loaded. ^M00:06:07 [ Music ]
