>> Dell is really earning its reputation as a company with bad customer service. A New York Supreme Court Justice ruled that the company has to start disclosing more clearly when customers do not qualify for free financing or get next day repair service. Dell has agreed to clean up their act and start auditing sales transactions to make sure there will be less confusion in the future. Let's hope. Vista has only been on the shelves for about a year, but Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer showed up at the Wall Street Journal's All Things D Conference to show off the next version of Windows codenamed Windows 7. Gates and Ballmer took turns showing off multi-touch and other simple OS tweaks. The duo said Windows 7 will come out three years after Vista, which pushes it to 2010. Hopefully they've got something interesting up their sleeves that they haven't shown us yet though because the demo is less than awe inspiring. We definitely don't need another Vista debucko with just multi-touch tech on. After selling books through Amazon for 7 years, Borders has parted ways with the book retailer to go it alone. Borders new Website was revamped with the neighborhood bookstore vive and a Magic Shelf feature that showcases select new books, CDs, DVDs, as well as a Picked for you section that has personalized recommendations. Like Amazon, the site will offer free shipping on orders over $25 in addition to used and out-of-print and rare titles. I don't think massive online retailers like Amazon expect this will impact book sales, but Borders does say, they expect to be independently profitable by 2009. The iPhone is about to land in two new markets, the Nordic and Baltic regions. Telecom operator TeliaSonera announced an agreement with Apple to carry the iPhone in 7 different countries. Of course the company did not say whether it would be the 3G model or the old trustee that we know and love right now. They also did not say whether their agreement with Apple was exclusive. Facebook has confirmed that it will open up its already open platform in an Open-Source initiative. This will mean that any and all social networks can be Facebook compatible and then the application that runs on Facebook can also run on any other social network. They're saying it's pretty cause and effect reaction to Google's open social. Amazon seems to have restocked the Kindle and it now cost 10% less than its original price. The Kindle had been out of stock for months now, but Engadget noticed that it is ready to ship again and that at a new low price of $359. Amazon is also throwing in a free HD TiVo when you buy certain flat panel TVs and this is not just for the big and expensive kind, either. It's for the moderately priced ones, like the 40-inch Samsung. I wish that I need a new HD-TV because I definitely need a TiVo, I hate my DVR. If you're gonna do this make sure you select the add book to cart purchases. Speaking of TiVo, the New York Times is reporting that the company will announce a partnership with the Chicago Tribute today. The partnership would let TiVo customers directly access reviews and recommendations from the paper's TV critic. The service would only be available to 100,000 TiVo subscribers in the Chicago area, but TiVo does hope to expand it regionally in the future. It's allergy season, but most of the Loaded crew is having a bad reaction to pollen, not Wi-Fi. We don't think that was even possible, but a group in Santa Fe is asking the city to ban Wi-Fi from public buildings because they claim to be having allergic reactions to the signal. The city council is saying that it's too late to stop the networks and the City Attorney hopes to have a legal recommendation by the end of the month. This is preposterous, can't they just take a Claritin and be quiet already. Hulu is trying to help you share its shows. The site launched a new Facebook integration capability that lets you automatically post your rating and reviews activity on your Facebook feeds, so your friends know what you're watching. It then lets them watch the same videos you've reviewed right there on Facebook. The company also has a new embed function that lets you embed any Hulu video with the video's URL and not some pesky embed code -- [inaudible]. Here's an update on the Playboy YouTube Channel. Silicon Alley Insider reports that the Playmate model search is a bust -- pun intended. The channel only has 62 entrants or at least 62 entrants who could stick to the No Nudity clause. That's not a lot considering how many people are on YouTube. I guess we won't have to worry about this adult content thing being much of an issue on YouTube just yet.
