LimeWire Video Transcript

Hi I'm Jason parker from Download.com and this is a First Look at LimeWire. Limewire is a peer-to-peer file sharing program which lets you search for files and presents a list of results from many differnet sources. We should warn you, it is possible to download copyrighted material, so be careful which files you choose to download. To find the file you want, simply use the text fields on the left, enter a search term and wait while LimeWire finds the results. You can also use the drop-down menus for genre or license type, to narrow your search. To limit your search to specific categories, use the buttons on the top left of the interface to search Images, Documents, audio files, and video. LimeWire offers its own media player so you can check the quality of files before you commit to saving them in appropriate folders on your hard drive. If you find that a certain user often has files you like or has a fast connection speed, you can use the browse host feature to scroll through that users files to find more. Because it's peer-to-peer file sharing, the files in your shared folder are also accessible to other users on the vast p2p network. If you no longer want to share certain files, you can change the sharing permissions in the preferences, or simply remove the file from your shared folder. Overall, we think LimeWire is one of the best file-sharing programs for Mac because it's easy to use and offers a huge network of users to make finding files much easier. I'm Jason Parker from Download.com and this has been a First Look at LimeWire. Thanks for watching.
