>> I'm [inaudible], associate editor for CNET.com. And this is the LG VX8700 from Verizon. So you can see it's a very sleek, very sexy phone, very shiny. It's got brushed stainless steel, it's a very smooth and solid feel in the hand. And on the front here is a very thin vertical stripe, it looks like a mirror almost, but it's actually the external screen where you can see date and time, battery and signal strength, and caller ID and so on. On top of here is the two megapixel camera lens. Open it up and you see a very lovely three point two inch diagonal QVGA screen here. It looks absolutely gorgeous. I mean colors just pop, the photos look beautiful. On the bottom here are the somewhat flat, Razr-like keypad here. As you can see, they're pretty flush to the surface, and it can be kind of hard to dial by feel despite the slight textured lines here. A few things we didn't like about the phone include the lack of external music player controls, so we couldn't easily access the music on the phone, and the micro SD card slot is hidden behind the battery. So you have to take out the cover and all to access the battery, so it's a bit of a pain. Overall, we love the design and the look of this phone, and the [inaudible] are pretty good as well. We're talking a two megapixel camera, camcorder, music player, also access to Verizon's V-Cast video, V-Cast music. [ background music ] And there's also [inaudible] VDO and GPS in this phone as well, so all in all a beautiful, sexy phone, with a lot of brains behind it too. My name is [inaudible] and this has been the LG VX8700. ^M00:01:36 [ music ]

LG VX8700 (Verizon Wireless) Review
The good: The LG VX8700 has a stunning and attractive stainless-steel design. It also has impressive multimedia features, and the call quality was great.
The bad: The LG VX8700 has a flat keypad and lacks external music player controls, and the microSD card slot is inconveniently located behind the battery. The VX8700 does not come with a USB cable or a microSD card, so there are additional costs to reap the full benefits of the music player.
The bottom line: The LG VX8700 is a gorgeous phone with plenty of multimedia features that are sure to please if you can get past its design flaws. Also, the need to purchase additional accessories can be a pain.
