-Donald Bell here for CNET.com at CES 2013. I'm taking a first look at the LG Smart Refrigerator. This is a connected refrigerator with a built in touch panel here that also connects over WiFi. The refrigerator also is able to connect over the smart grid. If you have a smart energy grid around your area, you can have that deal to manage the refrigerator. A lot of the things that would, I think, you'd want in a smart refrigerator here. There is a food manager that allows you to manually enter in any groceries you picked up from the store. You're having to manually enter them in and delete them at this point, but there might be an update in 2013 that will allow you to scan a receipt maybe so that the refrigerator would quickly be able to know what's in you refrigerator. The refrigerator will be able to quickly know what's inside. You can also use these ingredients in a separate menu here to create recipes so that the refrigerator will know what you have inside and hopefully be able to you what you can make out of those ingredients. So, you've got your recipes here. You've got your food manager. You've got memo pad here if wanna scroll quick note to the kid or if you wanna record a voice memo for your family. You've Google counter integration that will allow you to hook up multiple accounts so that you can see days' activities and the weeks lay out here right from your refrigerator. Other things, see photo album. Yeah, you can still-- still made out of metal. You can still tuck up photos the old fashion way, but if you wanna have photo album here on the front of your refrigerator, it's nice. Also, it kind of defaults to a photo album view when screen kind of-- before it goes to sleep so you see some pictures of the kids be your rush out the door. That's it. I mean, there are some pretty cool-- layout is not that much more expensive than the conventional refrigerators that LG is offering, and it's just one of those things that I'm sure we're gonna see pop more and more in refrigerator and home technology.
