LG's PA4500 is cheap but you can do better Video Transcript
-If you're looking to buy a budget television then the Plasma TV is probably the best way to go. You'll get excellent image quality, great blacks and a price is the same as an LCD TV. But there are some exceptions. Hi, I'm Todd Pendlebury from CNET.com and this is a review of the LG PA4500 Plasma TV. Well, Panasonic has dominated the field of TVs for 2012, this one area it can't compete in. Entry level plasma, its X5 plasma doesn't have a patch on it s competition and this includes the LG TV. The PA4500 is a 720p television, which gives it a resolution of only 1024x786 pixels. This LG doesn't have any features to speak of, it junks the usual smart TV and 3D features in order to keep the price slow. The LG carries an understated design, a TruSlim bezel and a rotating stand. Picture quality is okay for [unk] colors are bright and saturated, they are a little too red. Black levels are not very good for plasma but at least shadow detail is good. In the old days plasma which shows solarizing problems with smooth [unk] of color would break up into bands and unfortunately this LG does the same thing. The PI4500 comes straight up against the Samsung E450 at a similar size and price. And given how good that Samsung TV is for the money, I'd actually suggest skipping over this LG completely. I'm Todd Pendlebury from CNET and this has been a review of the LG PA4500.

LG 42PA4500 Review
The good: The LG PA4500 plasma TV is a budget model that provides plenty of detail in shadows and punchy colors. Video processing is also a highlight. LG's design is understated yet not gaudy as some cheap TVs tend to be. It uses less power than 1080p resolution plasmas of this size.
The bad: The LG's picture quality is otherwise lackluster. Its black levels are fairly poor in comparison with the equivalently priced Samsung E450. The LG suffers from solarization that manifests as distinct bands in gradated colors. The screen is quite reflective and not suited to a bright room.
The bottom line: The LG PA4500 is a decent budget TV in many respects but its competitors are able to deliver bigger picture quality for the buck.
