LG's LS4600 TV is an also-ran Video Transcript
LG has released some spectacular TV designs this year, but not all of us can afford 3 grand on a television. I am Ty Pendlebury, and this is a review of the LG LS4600, and it starts at the much more affordable street price of $700. While not a design superstar, the TV isn't bad looking with a slim black bezel and a distinctive swivel stand. The remote control is a fully fledged ball and fairly friendly. The TV lacks internet connectivity. So, features are limited to USB Media Playback or connection via 1 of 3 HDMI ports. As far as picture quality is concerned, the 2012 LGs have been a mixed bag with a couple of standouts and a whole lot of draws. And unfortunately, this TV fits in the latter. Black levels are bad. Even for the price and more shadow detail is good, it is obscured by big backlight clouds and bluish tones. Color is okay, but there is a lack of vibrancy that even TVs at half the price can muster. But at least it has a swivel stand, right? Unfortunately, the LG LS4600 doesn't do enough of anything at all to justify its high price and is definitely not recommended. This is Ty Pendlebury for CNET.com.

LG 47LS4600 Review
The good: The LG LS4600 is an attractive-looking midrange TV with a slim bezel and a rotating stand. Its picture delivers good shadow detail and colors are relatively accurate. The menu system is easy to navigate.
The bad: The TV has some of the worst black levels and uniformity I've seen this year. Colors are desaturated and skin tones in particular can look a little pale. For a midrange TV there are no features to speak of -- even the network port is inactive.
The bottom line: The LG LS4600 LED TV has looks on its side, but it doesn't perform to the level expected at this price.
