LG Chocolate Touch (Verizon Wireless) Video Transcript

>> Nicole Lee: I'm Nicole lee, associate editor for cnet.com, and this is a first look at the LG Chocolate Touch from Verizon Wireless. As the name suggests, it is the first touchscreen version of the LG Chocolate phone from Verizon Wireless. And as you can see here's a nice 3inch touchscreen display on the front here, very nice and colorful. On the back here is a 3.2megapixel camera lens as well as a very interesting geometric back plate here. It also comes with a purple back plate as well. On the right of the display here are two shortcut keys that lead to the shortcut bin or the music player. The shortcut [inaudible] an array of application and media shortcuts that you can just drag and drop from the shortcut bin to the home screen. At the bottom of the display are shortcuts to the messaging menu, the phone dialer, the main menu, the contacts list as well as the favorites menu. Following the LG Chocolate tradition of great music centric handsets, the Chocolate Touch also comes with a really good music player. In fact it comes with an array of Dolby music equalizer presets as well as a manual equalizer as well. The music player also has an FM radio and integrated song ID. A nice bonus of the music player is the "Join the Band" feature. This lets you play along with your favorite music with a drum kit as well as a scrolling 88key keyboard. Other features of the phone include a 3.1megapixel camera and camcorder, GPS VZ Navigator, stereo Bluetooth, EVDO with support for V Cast Music Rhapsody and V Cast Video. There's also text and multimedia messaging with a full QWERTY keyboard when you tilt the phone sideways. There's also a social network shortcut key that gives you quick access to your Facebook and mySpace updates as well as your Twitter status updates. It also has a full HTML web browser. The LG Chocolate is available for $79.99 with a twoyear service agreement from Verizon Wireless. I'm Nicole Lee. This has been a first look at the LG Chocolate Touch. ^M00:02:03 [ Music ] ^M00:02:07

LG Chocolate Touch VX8575 (Verizon Wireless) Review

The good: The LG Chocolate Touch has a great music player, a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, EV-DO, a 3.5mm headset jack, and a responsive touch screen.

The bad: The LG Chocolate Touch has a disappointing browser, and the overall look and feel of the phone is nothing we haven't seen before.

The bottom line: Despite our issues with the browser and the uninteresting design, the LG Chocolate Touch is a terrific music phone for Verizon Wireless.
