>> Hi. I'm Matthew Moskovciak from CNET.com, and this is the LH BD390. This is LG's flagship Blu-ray player, and it's absolutely jam-packed with features. Like a lot of Blu-ray players this year, it has plenty of online streaming media services, such as Netflix, YouTube, and Cinema Now. So if you have a Netflix subscription, you'll be able to stream your Netflix movies right to this box. What makes it easier to stream media to the BD390 is that it has integrated Wi-Fi, and it's also the first Blu-ray player to have the faster 802.11N speed Wi-Fi built into the unit. So instead of other Blu-ray players that require you to have an Ethernet connection, the LG already has the Wi-Fi built in if you have a Wi-Fi network at home. You'll also notice on the front panel, there is a USB port, and this player can play back a ton of different media files. All you have to do is pop in a USB drive, and it can play back DVX and MKV and MP3 files. Combined with the streaming services, the ability to play back your own media files really makes this kind of an all purpose video player. Also on the features front, if you take a look around back, there are 7.1 analog outputs. So you're able to take advantage of the high-resolution soundtracks like Dolby true HD and DTS HD master audio on an older AV receiver that doesn't have HDMI. Now, in addition to all these features, this is also an excellent Blu-ray player. It has pristine image quality, and the load times are among the fastest we've seen. It's just a tad slower than the Samsung BDP 3600. But both players are so fast that you really don't notice any lag. Really, the only knock we had against the BD390 is the cost. At its current list price, it cost as much as the Sony PS3, and if you're into gaming, that may be a better value. However, if you're willing to pay for a Blu-ray player that's absolutely packed with features and has excellent Blu-ray playback, the LG BD390 is our top choice in the category. I'm Matthew Moskovciak, and this is the LG BD390. ^M00:02:04 [ Music ]

LG BD390 Review
The good: Excellent image quality on Blu-ray movies; integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi; Netflix, YouTube, and CinemaNow streaming; superfast disc loading; plays music, videos, and pictures off a connected USB drive or over network; Profile 2.0 compatible; onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; 7.1 analog outputs; 1GB onboard memory.
The bad: Costs as much as a PS3; CinemaNow doesn't stack up to Amazon Video On Demand.
The bottom line: The LG BD390's combination of excellent image quality, superfast loading times, and its currently unbeatable feature set make it our top choice among premium standalone Blu-ray players.
