Lenovo U300s Ultrabook Video
Lenovo U300s Ultrabook Video Transcript
-I'm Dan Ackerman and we're here taking a look at Lenovo's new IdeaPad U series, which is really notable because it's one of the first ultrabooks that we've seen if you've been paying attention. Intel has its new concept called an ultrabook and they say that if you build a laptop that's between 11 and 13 inches and it's about 18 mm thick, no thicker than that, and if you add new specs, then you can call it an ultrabook, which they're trying to create as a brand-new category. This is the IdeaPad U300. And as you can see, it's very thin. You get a low-voltage Core i5 CP unit. It's got a big glass touch pad, kida like you'd find on a MacBook and that's sort of the ultrabook idea. They're trying to get PC version of superthin laptops like that for maybe a few hundred dollars less. If you want something that's kind of like this ultrabook, but you want it a little bit more powerful, maybe a different screen size, they've also got the IdeaPad U300. It's not technically an ultrabook because it's just a tiny bit thicker, but you can get a full voltage core i5 in that. They've also got the U400. That's a 14-inch screen and you can get a core i5 or core i7 in that. And obviously, even though the U300S is the only [unk] ultrabook in this group here, they're all actually very similar. They've got 1 depth design like that. They're not [unk]. They look like a book if you hold 'em up by the size. All these systems should be out by the end of 2011. The 14-inch U400 should be about 850. The 13-inch U300 about 799. And the ultrabook, the U300S, about 1199. I'm Dan Ackerman taking a First Look at Lenovo's IdeaPad U series.
