I'm Dan Ackerman and we are here taking a look at the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13. Just on that Yoga name alone, it kinda gives away what this laptop's special trick is, and of course it fits in with a lot of the other laptops/tablets/hybrids/convertible Windows 8 Systems. We've seen that kind of this half laptop, half something else, has a touchscreen obviously, but here comes the yoga part of it, the hinge for the screen tilts back, goes all the way flat and then actually keeps going. So the first other mode I'd put it in is something that you call kind of a table tilt maybe. [unk] sure how usual this particular view is but it's there. More useful actually is flipping it over and putting it up like a stand, almost as if it's a touchscreen monitor and this is actually a great view for sharing videos or presentation with other people especially because you can still manipulate the screen like this. And of course if you take the screen and you keep tilting it back, well then you end up with a slate style tablet right here with a little exception that some people may not like and that's the keyboard is still exposed on the back. When you fold it back like this, it actually deactivates the keyboard and the touch pad, so you won't do anything by pressing them but it's a little odd to feel the keyboard under your hand when you're holding it in kind of the tablet mode like this. That stand is a little bit of-- kind of a leathery grayish cover here. So you can put it down like this whether it's in slate mode or in this sort of display mode and you don't have to worry about clinging the keys on your desktop too much. The reason why this is probably one of the better laptop/tablet hybrid convertible systems that we've seen with Windows 8 is because you know, they're all okay tablets and then it's really a killer tablet but this is the bestest laptop out of them because as you can se there, it doesn't do anything to compromise the basic clamshell laptop experience and really even with the touchscreen, this is how you're gonna use the system like this most of the time.
