Video description: The 11.1-inch Lenovo IdeaPad U110 is the most beautiful laptop we've seen in years, and behind those good looks is a well-appointed, fairly priced ultraportable. Despite a few minor nitpicks, we recommend the IdeaPad U110 to those who want a lightweight, eye-catching laptop for frequent travel.

>> Hi, I'm Dan Ackerman, senior editor at CNET.com, and we are taking a look at the Lenovo IdeaPad U110. Lenovo is, of course, a Chinese company that's the caretaker of the fabled business brand, but these new IdeaPad laptops are aimed squarely at consumers. There's a lot to like about the U110. It's super thin, super light; at about two and a half pounds, it's even lighter than the MacBook Air. And it's got a really gigantic keyboard for such an ultra portable laptop. A lot went into the styling as well. There are red and black versions, and they each have a cool little etched pattern right there in the back of the metal lid. But there are a couple of things that keep this from being the perfect ultra portable. At about $2,000.00, it costs almost as much as five Asus EPCs, whether it's five times better or not, that's a good question. And you're only going to get about one and a half to two hours of life our of the default battery. Not nearly enough for traveling. Lenovo does give you a second, larger battery, but it's so gigantic that it kind of takes away the purpose of having an ultra thin, ultra portable laptop. But still, this is one of the coolest looking laptops we've seen all year. Definitely sure to be a big hit down at the coffee shop. I'm Dan Ackerman, and that's the Lenovo IdeaPad U110. ^M00:01:09 [ Music ]

The heart of Lenovo's IdeaCentre A600 is in the right place, offering a 21.5-inch LCD-based all-in-one for less than $800. You might consider a different A600 build if you can live with the design, but we can't recommend the $749 version.
