Stateless are one of Leeds' most exciting bands, currently on course to explode all over the music world. The band fuses a conventional band set-up of vocals (Chris James), bass (Justin Percival) and drums (David Levin) with the electronic mesh of turntables (Kidkanevil) and live programming (Rod). Stateless recently finished recording their self-titled debut album with producer Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian), who passed on some tracks to the mighty DJ Shadow. Paul McCartney earned three Grammy nominations for his critically acclaimed album, "Chaos And Creation In The Backyard." With nominations for Album Of The Year, Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, for the album's first single "Fine Line," and Best Pop Vocal Album, (as well as a Producer Of The Year nod for Nigel Godrich) McCartney's "Chaos" stands as one of the most nominated albums of the year. "It's always great to be recognized for your work,? said McCartney, who recently completed his sold-out, 37-city, "US Tour" of America. "We're very proud of the album, the reception it's had and I?m chuffed for Nigel. It was a great album to make. And seeing as I've never actually won a Grammy for my post-Wings work, it's pretty exciting..." "Chaos And Creation In The Back Yard" is McCartney?s 20th studio recording since The Beatles. Upon its release, which marked the end to a nearly four year studio hiatus for McCartney, the recording was met with unprecedented universal critical praise. The comparisons to "Chaos," were made at the time, many pointing out similarities to "McCartney," as well as to the Beatles "White Album." "Chaos" was produced by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Travis and Beck) and was recorded in London and Los Angeles over the past two years.

30 Seconds to Mars: "A Beautiful Lie"
"A Beautiful Lie," the title track and current single from 30 Seconds to Mars' platinum album, marks the first music video ever shot 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle in Greenland. It is the third in a series of short films featuring songs from the band's 2005 album. (The previous two were "The Kill" and "From Yesterday," which was the first American music video shot in the People's Republic of China); both were directed by Bartholomew Cubbins. "A Beautiful Lie" directed by Angakok Panipaq premieres January 30th in an array of countries including the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Sweden and Denmark through a never before seen global Myspace exclusive event. This will be followed by a multi-channel and online media blitz.
The Constantines: "Nightime/Anytime, It's Alright"
When the Constantines headlined the Sub Pop showcase at the 2004 SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas; the band's show concluded with them standing on the speaker stacks clapping and keeping time for the audience as the room sang the band's recent set closer (Lou Reed's "Temporary Thing") back at them. This scene lasted a full five minutes, five minutes of finale without the band playing a single note and thus the increasingly impatient promoters, fearful of running over their strict Texan curfew, couldn't even unplug the band to get them off the stage. But then the purpose of the stage is constantly called into question at Constantines shows. Bryan and Steve will regularly move their mic stands into the crowd and Doug frequently hands out percussion to the faithful gathered together near the band. The greatest rock and roll is always transformative, a concept that the Constantines grasped from their inception and one which was so readily on display at this show. The boundary between band and crowd is blurred; inhibitions are lost, along with voices, and ultimately you feel more alive than you did before the band took the stage, before you stopped noticing the stage.

The band released only three singles in the last year - but these 12inches caused a good buzz and heavy rotations with DJ's all over the place. Especially the single SPACE FOR RENT (and The Rapture's remix of it) is currently getting a huge response (Leftfield single of the issue in DJ mag), and their cover version of Benny Benassi's Satisfaction is still a hit in many clubs. The album?s second single OUT THE DOOR was remixed by French producers IN FLAGRANTI and SUPERDISCOUNT and has been getting good exposure in clubs worldwide. Pete Tongfeatured it in his Radio One Essential charts and 2 MANY DJ?s featured a few WhoMadeWho Songs in their latest Radio One mix. MTV in France and Italy and MTV in UK put the video on rotation. The 2 MANY DJ'S/ SOULWAX guys are such huge fans of WhoMadeWho that they invited the band to do their live support on their big UK tour in autumn 2005. Sitting in the back room of their Deptford hotel, Athlete are trying to explain the development their sound has made on "Tourist," the quartets marvelous second album. "The last album was quirky pop. And it was good quirky pop..." says bandmember Stephen Roberts (drums and vocals), no doubt to the agreement of the 250,000 fans who bought 2004's "Vehicles and Animals" and the judging panel that shortlisted it for the Mercury Award, "but we wanted to push ourselves further." "We'll always love good melodies," agrees bandmember Joel Pott (guitar and vocals). "But pop in itself wasn't enough for this record." The two other members of the band are Carey Willetts (bass and vocals) and Tim Wanstall (keyboards and vocals).
The single, "Number 1," is from Goldfrapp's highly anticipated third full-length release "Supernature." Through pioneering electronics, crystalline vocals, visual theatrics and glam-sex decadence, Goldfrapp has all the hallmarks of classic British pop music. After "Felt Mountain" (2000), their Mercury Award nominated debut, their second album - the Brit nominated "Black Cherry" - was the benchmark of 2003. Its two euphoric, electro-stomp anthems, "Train" and "Strict Machine" were that year's peak of class-pop cool. As a British duo who writes and produces everything together, the new album, "Supernature" is the sound of Goldfrapp breaking through their own crash barrier, an uncompromising creative force at the top of their very own game.
