>> Hi, I'm Ken Ceriman[sp?], senior editor here at CNet dot com. Today, we're going to take a first look at the Kyocera Marble. This is a new phone for Virgin Mobile Service. Virgin Mobile likes to keep the phones pretty basic and the Marble is no exception. Very simple flip phone design, in fact, so simple that you're not even an external screen. Virgin Mobile's advertising this phone as thin, although, I'm not sure I agree. There are a lot more thin phones out there these days. This is sort of slim, but really not in the likes of some of the Samsung and Razor phones you'd see out there. Open up the phone, inside you have a pretty basic internal display. Not to bright, not to vivid or colorful, but on par for what type of phone this is. Moving down to the navigation controls, you can see they are flat with the surface of the phone raised just a tiny bit. You have a four way toggle, its circular with an okay button in the middle. Also has a number of shortcuts. You have two soft keys; you have a talk and an end power key, dedicated back button and a dedicated speaker phone button as well. Always nice to see the dedicated speaker phone button. Really wasn't sure what it was at first, just had this series of curved lines, figured it out though. [Inaudible] you have a [inaudible] locker, you have a headset check and the charger port on the bottom. Otherwise though, very basic phone, not a lot to offer, pretty simple design, just for making calls. I'm Ken Ceriman[sp?], this is the Kyocera Marble. ^M00:01:09 [ Music ]

Kyocera Marbl K127 (Virgin Mobile) Review

The good: The Kyocera Marbl is easy to use, offers decent call quality, and comes with satisfactory features.

The bad: The Kyocera Marbl lacks an external display, and its phone book and ringtone selection are rather small.

The bottom line: The Kyocera Marbl is a decent phone for making calls, though we wish it had an external display.
