>> Hi, I'm David Carnoy Executive Editor for CNET.com and I'm here to give you a quick look at the Konnet Power Pyramid for PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers. Konnet makes a few of these chargers. They come in an Xbox 360 flavor which charges 4 Xbox 360 controllers as well as the PS3 version that charges for PS3 controllers but this model here charges both, 2 of each. It's really a very simple charger. You plug it in. You plug in your controllers and they charge. It's a pretty simple elegant design and it does allow you to save some space with your controllers so it is convenient to have one of these things. You can just stow this behind your TV or off to the side. It is a neat way to stack up your controllers and charge them at the same time. As you know with a PS3 controller you cannot charge it while your system is off so it's nice to have a charger like this that you can charge your PS3 controllers. There are a couple of blue LED lights that light up when you're charging your controllers. There's a also a red LED light that lights up next to the controller at the charging point. With our power pyramid review sample the light came on for the PS3 controller, that little red light at the control point, however it did not really come on for the Xbox 360 controller. However, the Xbox 360 controller did charge just fine. Really that's all there is to this thing. It is a convenient way to both charge and store your controllers if you are both an Xbox 360 and PS3 owner. One of the drawbacks is at the time we were reviewing this it did have a list price of $50 we did think that that was a little bit expensive. These things should go for in sort of a $25 to $35 range. So hopefully the price of the product will come down a little bit, that would make it more attractive. That was really one of our only major gripes about it and that little red light. The good: Charges both Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers; doubles as a storage stand for your controllers.
The bad: Somewhat pricey for what it is.
The bottom line: While we wished it cost a bit less, the Konnet PS3 and Xbox 360 Power Pyramid is a solid gaming accessory that will appeal to dual-console owners.
