>> Rave Needleman: Hi this is Rave Needleman at the 2010 CES. I'm sitting in a 2011 Kia Sorento which has a new voice controlled system for the phone and entertainment powered by Microsoft, it's called UVO and it's similar to the system that you can find in a Ford Sync. What Microsoft is touting about the system is that unlike earlier voice control systems in cars the menu structures are what they call flat so you don't have to back out to the top menu to say contacts, make call and then list the name of the person. You can go from anywhere in the system and say pretty natural language commands like call a person's name, or play preset number 1, or play FM 103 or whatever you want. This is based on a 4.3 inch touch screen here which also will have a backup camera on it when it shifts it's not in this version when you go into reverse this will go to the backup camera. There will be no Uvo without this touch screen so if the voice recognition isn't working for you can always fall back on pressing the buttons the old fashion way. That is the UVO voice recognition system in the Kia Sorento. From CES I'm Rave Needleman.
