>> I'm Antuan Goodwin with CNET Car Tech, and we are live on the floor of CES 2009. Kenwood's installed their new DNX8120. It's a multi-media and navigation dual din-head unit. One of the biggest features of this is gonna be the full-on iPod integration. Now, in order to get this level of iPod integration, we had to purchase a $20.00 adapter cable, but for this level of integration, I'll gladly part with that 20 bucks. It'll allow you to come in here and search your music by artist, genre, podcast, and all that other good stuff. It has this really cool feature where you can pretty much jump to the end of any list just by tapping down near the bottom of the list. So just that quick, I'm all the way down at the Vs from the As, even though I've got a couple thousand artists on here. It also, with the addition of this iPod cable, will allow you to do something that I haven't seen in a lot of head units, and that's gonna be playback iPod video. So you can come in the menu, choose a movie, and watch it right here in the head unit. An interesting feature for those looking to build on to their system is a set of external, switchable, 12-volt connections. And the buttons are right here in the he menu. And they're usually accessible right here down in the corner. So this unit also has a 50 by 4 wide internal amplifier that's maximum power. We've also got 5-volt preamp, so if you want to add external amplifiers, it'll give you the clean sound. You've got outputs for a subwoofer front, rear, and center channel because this is, of course, a 5.1 surround unit. This unit also has two USB ports on the back for connecting your iPod. It also is extensible, and you can add HD radio modules. You can add modules for satellite radio. There's a TV tuner that you can purchase optionally. You got plenty of options for just making this system into whatever you really want to make it. Live on the floor here at CNET 2009, I'm Antuan Goodwin. This is the Kenwood DNX8120. ^M00:01:54 [ Music ]
