>> Hi I'm CNET senior editor David Katzmeir [assumed spelling], and I'm with the JVC LTP300. This is a 46 inch model, but the series does include a 42, as well as a 32 inch model. This is JVC's iPod-enabled TV. So the real benefit of this model is that you can pop open this drawer here on the front, toss your iPod in there, and enjoy the music, videos, and even photos stored on that iPod right on the TV. So you can watch rented movies from the iTunes store, you can also listen to any of your MP3 music. One of the cool things about that doc is that it also charges your iPod right as you leave it in there. In fact you don't even need to have the TV on to do the charging, you can just kind of leave the TV off, walk up, toss your iPod in there, walk away, get it charged, and then take it out again. The iPod dock also interfaces with your home AV system. So when you listen to music you don't have to use the cruddy TV speakers built into the television, you can actually pipe the sound out with even a digital audio output right to your good sounding home theater system. So all in all it's a really well integrated solution. As you can see on the screen here, the menu does allow you to browse and shuffle music, as well as you can also look at videos, and there's a variety of categories here. One of the down sides is it doesn't display the cover art like the iPod has on its screen. But really other than that, it's a pretty well integrated solution. Besides that, the LTP300 is actually a television. It's a 1080P model, standard LCD features. It actually has fewer features than a lot of the other LCDs on the market. Doesn't have too many picture tweaks, but it does have good selection of inputs. On the back there's three HDMI as well as two component video, and a PC input. One of the problems is though those inputs share slots, so you're gonna have to decide what exactly to hook up to this TV. Picture quality on the JVC wasn't as good as a lot of the other high end LCDs out there, but it's decent. The black levels are actually pretty darn good. It can achieve a nice deep color of black, but shadow detail was off. And the color accuracy was not as good as we'd like to see. A lot of that suffers from the fact that you can't really adjust too many of the picture parameters to dial in the color, as well as a lot of the other TVs out there. But again, it's a perfectly functional TV. And for somebody who's a real iPod freak it's pretty nice. By the way, also works with iPhone, so a word to the wise. JVC LT-32P300 Review

The good: Well-implemented and convenient iPod dock allows charging and playback of music, video, and photos; reproduces relatively deep black levels.

The bad: Less accurate color; only basic picture adjustments available; doesn't stay in 1:1 aspect ratio mode; wacky styling; no side-panel inputs.

The bottom line: The dock on JVC's LT-P300 series of LCD TV provides a well-designed and easy way to enjoy iPod and iPhone content in the living room.
