>> Hi, I'm senior editor David Katzmaier from CNET.com and I'm with the JVC LT40FN97. This is 40 inch flat panel LCD TV, one of the least expensive 1080P flat panel LCDs on the market. 1080P just means that the set has enough pixels to display every detail of the highest resolution HDTV source. And again, one of the less expensive models on the market that can do that right now. JVC clad this set entirely in black. As you can see, there are speakers below the screen here to save a little bit of width. Around the edge of the screen, its self is a glossy black border and there is a stand included with the TV that matches. And the stand allows the set to swivel back and forth so you can aim it to either side of the couch for example if you'd like. Inside the set, the menu system is actually a little bit archaic looking. But it does have everything that you need. The remote itself is also a little bit old school compared to a lot of the remotes out there. But in general, we don't have any major complaints about the design. Around back, you'll find a standard selection of inputs including a pair of HDMI, two component video and one PC input, although it's worth noting that the PC input can't handle the full 1080P resolution. You'll have to turn down your PC's resolution a little bit so it's not the best computer monitor compared to other large screen LCDs out there. When we took the JVC in the lab, we were mostly impressed by its picture quality. It does produce a relatively deep level of black, although not quite as deep as some of the most expensive 1080P LCDs out there. Color accuracy was a little bit off, but again relatively good. And overall, we were pretty impressed by the picture quality. Anyway, that's a quick look at the JVC LT40FN97 and I'm David Katzmaier. ^M00:01:38 [ Music ]
