Spice Girls: "Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)"

Real pop stars are more than just popular; they are barometers for an era, providing the images for the world's memories of a particular time. Look back to the 1960s and we see those Beatles smiles and monochrome suits. Cast your mind back to the late 1990s and it is those Girls, those songs, that dress. Music snobs might sniff at the comparison to the Fab Four but all those Beatles dolls, Beatles annuals and movies that made John, Paul, George and Ringo such omnipotent beings in the 1960s were re-created in the 1990s with just as much fervour around Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria.

The Somnambulants: "Take It On"

Stylistically, The Somnambulants are even more driven by cinematic influence, as evidenced in their lyrical imagery and spacious production. Joseph White built the first Somnambulants songs from music soundtrack pieces composed during his tenure as a film student. In fact, their name was taken from the somnambulist character Cesare - in the 1920 German film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Its fitting, therefore, that the title track from their previous album, Evacuation, appeared in the soundtrack for the Oscar-nominated film Half Nelson (Lakeshore Records).

"Memory of a Dream"

Based on the word "Reflections" and created for an online contest, this is a sort of art film short based on recollections of bits of dreams and scenes from my life. A twisty bit of tidbits of video put together to weave a possible story line. Don't look for too much meaning here but you should get that hair on the back of your neck standing up sort of feeling. It does have a creepy vibe, just go with it. It's only a dream. Sean McHenry Deep Blue Edit
