>> Hi I'm Bonnie Cha, Senior Editor at CNET.com and today we're taking a First Look at the Jensen NVX225. This is an entry-level portable navigation system and it offers just the basics--voice and text-guided directions and also points of interest and that's about it. The design is pretty simple; it's kind of boring actually but nice and compact. It has a 3.5 inch touch screen here and it's pretty responsive. I could see it in most lighting conditions. The inner face isn't as simple to use as some other systems so that was a downfall. And also you can get a lot more for your money with the Mio C230 or the Garmin Nuvi 200. So for that reason I would recommend those two systems over the Jensen. It's not a bad device; I just think you can get more for your money. It's available now for 300 dollars and I'm Bonnie Cha and this has been your First Look at the Jensen NVX225. ^M00:00:53 [ Music ] ^M00:00:57

Jensen NVX225 Review

The good: The Jensen NVX225 in-car GPS device is affordably priced and offers text- and voice-guided directions and other basic navigation tools.

The bad: The NVX225's interface and overall user experience isn't as smooth as competing products, and it lacks text-to-speech functionality. The points-of-interest database is also out of date.

The bottom line: As an entry-level GPS device, the Jensen NVX225 offers all the basics at an affordable price tag, but you can get a better user experience and more from the Mio C230 or Garmin Nuvi 200.
