Jabra Stone 2 Video Transcript

I'm Nicole Lee, senior associate editor for CNET.com and this is the First Look at the Jabra STONE2 Bluetooth headset. It's actually 2 devices in one. There's a headset in the middle here and it's housed inside a portable charging unit that looks like a stone, like the name suggests. You push the headset out by pushing up from behind the pebble. As you can see, the headset itself is very small, it's very stylish, and when worn, it's very discreet as well. By itself, the headset only has 2 hours of battery life but because you have a portable charger with you, it gets up to 8 hours of battery life. The Jabra STONE2 has almost the same design as its predecessor but the Jabra STONE2 has new features like voice guidance that gives you voice tutorials on how to set up your headset and more. It also has voice announcements that lets you know incoming caller ID. You can also use voice commands like "Answer" or "Ignore" to answer or ignore a call. As you can see here, the headset is very small. On the front here is the simple Jabra logo. On the back is the usual earpiece that fits very comfortably inside the ear. Also on the back is a tiny little LED indicator. To control the headset, there's a small multifunction button on the headset. There's also a volume rocker which is touch sensitive so you have to slide your finger up and down the surface of the headset to control the volume. Other features of the Jabra STONE2 include A2DP stereo streaming. You also get multi-point technology to connect up to 2 devices simultaneously. When paired with an iPhone, the Jabra STONE2 also shows its headset battery meter. The Jabra STONE2 also promises improved sound quality with its new noise-reduction technology called Noise Blackout 3. However, in our tests, it wasn't as good as we had hoped. The Jabra STONE2 is available for $139.99 retail. I'm Nicole Lee, this has been a First Look at the Jabra STONE2.

Jabra Stone 2 Review

The good: The Jabra Stone 2 has a stylish and unique design that encapsulates the headset inside a charger. The fit is effortless, comfortable, and discreet. Updated features include voice guidance alerts and voice controls.

The bad: The Jabra Stone 2's audio quality is average at best, with quite a bit of digital noise in outgoing calls. We're not fans of the touch-sensitive volume rocker, and the Stone 2 only fits in the right ear.

The bottom line: The Jabra Stone 2 is undoubtedly elegant with several advanced features to boot, but it does have a downside in performance.
