In 1994, Mos Def along with his younger brother DCQ and his younger sister Ces, formed the group Urban Thermo Dynamics. UTD first graced the scene with the underground classic track "My Kung Fu". They soon thereafter followed up with the now classic "Manifest Destiny" single, which gave them notoriety among the wider hip-hop masses. Both singles where to lead up to the release of the group's debut album, Manifest Destiny. Though the group was signed to Payday Records, the album never saw an official release. Soon after the group was released from Payday, Mos Def and DCQ formed Medina Green and released the Rawkus Records underground mega-hit Crosstown Beef. Later, Mos Def recorded with Talib Kweli as Black Star, which took his underground notoriety to soaring heights. Mos Def's commercial popularity spawned with his hit gold debut solo album, Black on Both Sides. Now commercially available for the first time is the UTD Manifest Destiny album via Illson Media (imprint founded by DCQ). This hip-hop classic is filled with dark and melodic bass heavy production from Diamond D. and Showbiz. The album features the timeless songs: 'My Kung Fu', 'Manifest Destiny', 'Moon In Cancer', and 'Like That'. This album is a must have for all fans of classic and quality Hip-Hop. In conjunction with the release of the UTD album, Illson Media is re-releasing Medina Green U Know The Flex Mixtape Vol. 1. WRITTEN BY UNDERGROUND RAPPER ARMAGIDEON. Milwaukee, Wisconsin is not known for breeding hit emcees as it is a house hold name for brewing the beer that stretches from sea to shining sea. Armagideon has managed to shine through the stereotypes as he set to release his debut album Tryin' Times. The twenty-three year old artist could quite easily be the Midwest's best kept secret. Beginning his musical journey on his front porch writing rhymes and break dancing at the tender age of twelve, Armagideon paid his dues as a member of Kings Paradice Records. For over a decade Kings Paradice Records has been the Milwaukee/Chicago hip hop source for innovative artists and quality hip hop products. Armagideon began as a roady, selling merchandise and towing his writing skills. Now, Armagideon is getting a taste of his dreams by touring constantly, by self marketing and distributing his own product. Armagideon has performed with the likes of neighboring emcee Common, veteran artists Whodini and Afrika Bamm. Eager to succeed, Armagideon has taken advantage of every single opportunity to shine. During a Common concert, Common asked the crowd, "Does Milwaukee have any real emcees?" Before Common could finish his sentence Armagideon catapulted himself to the stage and before he could realize what was happening, he was rapping along side one of his favorite artists. Other notable opening performances by Armagideon include Dead Prez, KRS ONE, Lil Webbie, Professor Griff, Erykah Badu, Mike Jones, Black Eyed Peas, N.E.R.D.and Young Bloodz. The sound is original and the lyrics have substance, a perfect combination that is sure to promise a bright future for this young artist. Armagideon's Lyrics are in his words, "a piece of my experience and people of the struggle across the Globe...I have traveled to Cuba, Jamaica and Peru and no matter where I go struggle is struggle and poverty is poverty, I have to be that voice." Working with selfless dedication to his message, he spills his heart out in songs like "Shine" and "Crazy Lady". Overall Armagideon's sound is a breath of fresh air from all the emcee battles, bling bling and murder music. It is hip hop in it's truest form and if you can appreciate authenticity then you will love the musical message of Armagideon. for more info visit http://www/myspace.com/gideonsarmy

Atmosphere: "National Disgrace"
After over a year of major label courting from Interscope, Sony, Warner Bros, Atlantic and Universal, Minneapolis indie Hip Hop powerhouse Rhymesayers Entertainment and Atmosphere have opted to pass on all offers and continue forward with their independent approach at changing the game. With the majors left behind, Rhymesayers has found a kindred spirit with the seminal Punk label Epitaph, and a worldwide licensing deal will be releasing Seven's Travels, the brand new full-length CD from indie Hip Hop troubadours Atmosphere on September 23rd. Atmosphere consists of Slug on rhymes, Ant on beats and resident DJ Mr. Dibbs. Due to years of touring and Slug's personal lyrical style Atmosphere has become legends in the underground Hip Hop scene and beyond. With a massive following of not only die-hard Hip Hop heads but indie rockers, punks, and not to mention one of Hip Hop's largest female followings, Atmosphere is breaking down barriers and expanding the definition of what Hip Hop can be in this day and age. Seven's Travels is the 4th Atmosphere studio album and takes you on a metaphorical journey with Slug (aka Seven) through politics, emotions and the physical. Once again Slug showcases a unique ability to transmit personal truths and experiences in a way that very few Hip Hop or any other form of popular music has been able to achieve. Not only has Slug enhanced his writing but the production of Ant has also become even more complex, rhythmic and funky. Simply put, Seven's Trails is more energetic, passionate, funnier and wiser than anything they've done to date.
