>> Hi I'm Jasmine France Senior Associate editor for CNET.com and I'm here with the iRiver MPlayer and I want to keep going on that name. It seems like it has such a longer name but uhmm it's just a little Mickey Mouse shape MP3 player as you can see. They come in a couple of different colors. There's pink, white, black, and silver and it's really, really small [laughs]. Now, this player has no screens so it doesn't really have a whole lot of features. You can shuffle, play back and move through folder directories but that's about it. It comes with 1GB and of internal flash memory and it runs for about 70 dollars. That's kind of a high price for a screenless MP3 player. You can find the Creative Zen Stone or Sansa Clip for less than enough but this is brand new and it shaped like Mickey so maybe it's worth it. You use the ears here to shuffle through tracks and also to adjust the volume. It's not the most durable player. I actually accidentally dropped it and half of the ear fell off. I was able to fix it back on this so that's the good sign. As such I wouldn't recommend it for clumsy people or small children. They might wanna put it on their mouth. It is very, very small. You have a standard 3.5 millimeter headphone jack on the top of the player here. There's also a standard mini USB port on the bottom for sinking and charging. A power button on the side and then there's a small LED here that indicates whether the player is on or not. It does come with these linear style headphones so if you wanna wear it on your neck pendant-style, you can do that. It also offers pretty good audio quality. So if you're a Mickey fan of any age and you want a really small, simple MP3 player, this is definitely worth a look. I'm Jasmine France [background music] and this has been the iRiver MPlayer.

iRiver Mplayer (1GB, silver) Review

Editors' rating

The good: The Iriver Mplayer offers a fun and unique design that is easy to use, and music sounds good.

The bad: The Iriver Mplayer has no display and thus few features, and it doesn't seem to be very durable.

The bottom line: The Iriver Mplayer isn't necessarily the best option for young children, but it's a swell-sounding music player for Mickey Mouse fans of all other ages.
