>> Brian Tall here with cnet.com at wwdc2010. We just finished up Steve Jobs' announcement on the big stage and behind me we have everyone playing with the new iPhone 4. [Applause and cheering] They call it their biggest leap since the original iPhone and really this is all about the cameras. The biggest feature here Apple likes to call FaceTime is the front facing camera on the phone that allows you to have real time live video chats over WiFi and it's really just a personal experience that we've never seen on a phone done so seamlessly and the big thing about this is that it will only work over WiFi in 2010. They are working with carriers to improve that down the road. Maybe we'll see it on 3G or definitely on 4G networks in the future but for now it will only work on WiFi. Now if we flip the phone onto its backside, there's also another camera there, it's a five mega pixel camera that has an LED flash but the killer feature here now, it takes HD video at 720 P and 30 frames per second and then Apple kicked it up one notch higher by enabling you to edit video on your iPhone with the iMovie app for iPhone. It has themes, you get access to your photos, music and there is transitions to really create a clean and well-polished video directly from the phone. ^M00:01:18

>> Another feature that Apple is really pushing is this new retina display. Yeah, it's a catchy name but really what this means is you're getting in 4 times the amount of pixels in the same space compared to the previous iPhone. Pictures look crisp, text looks super sharp and this is really going to be one of the selling points that you just got to see it to believe it. Now the iPhone 4 is also packed with an A4 processor. The same one used in the iPad and based on how they optimized the battery, you're going to be getting over 40 percent more talk time with some of this new tech packed under the hood. Also Apple's engineered this steel frame to not only be the structure of the phone but also the antenna and it allows you a lot more space to put more in the guts and this is now the slimmest smart phone on the market. So you want to know the availability and the price? The iPhone will come in black or white, it will start at $199 for the 16 gig model and then $299 for the 32 gig model. Also, if you're an AT&T customer whose contract expires in 2010 they're going to allow you to upgrade without a termination fee so you can bet that a lot of people will want to get their hands on this guy.
