The Internet memes we're thankful for Video Transcript
Hey, everyone, Im Molly Wood, and welcome to the Buzz Report, the show about the tech news that everyone is talking about. Its the Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S. this week, and if youve been watching this show all year -- and I hope you have -- you know that the thing that delights me most every week is whats clogging the tubes. So, because Im so thankful for the insanity that the Internet brings us day after day welcome to our 2011 Thanksgiving Clogging the Tubes Spectacular! I think a new meme has been born this year, actually -- people entertaining critters. The mariachis serenading the beluga whales kind of kicked off the whole thing, and it really took off. The jazz band serenading the cows might be my favorite, but music works on geese, too! Cat videos never get old, and neither does brilliant satire. So, put the two together, and you get this fantastic piece of work. That is genius. Truly. Speaking of genius, collegehumor dot com delivered a lot of it this year -- it almost seems like cheating to use their clips, but they nailed the Siri meme so brilliantly here that no one can stop talking about it. Also kind of big in the clogging universe this year? Owls. Turns out, theyre friendly, adorable, love getting petted, and they play with cats. I mean. Who knew!? The Web continued to show us how history repeats itself, which can be comforting in these troubled times a protest speech from 1964 kept Occupy protesters all fired up. And of course what would this technologically wondrous time be if it didnt also deliver a MASSIVE sense of perspective now and again? My friends and I were all mesmerized by this time- lapse video made up of photos taken of Earth from space. What more is there to say? Thanks for a great year so far, everyone! Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks for watching.

We're rounding up our favorite Bin Laden/Obama memes on the Web and also blasting TomTom for supplying data to the cops! In other news: a public toilet is dirtier than your steering wheel, MTI reviews Gunnar glasses, and an awesome 3D 404 graphic from Nick B in Buffalo, NY!
Today's episode of CNET's The 404 Podcast features a pink Ouija Board, the newest Facebook meme, search engine profiling, and Google's latest mapping feature that waves good-bye to your shopping privacy.
This week on Buzz, the best Clogging the Tubes ever, the end of Google Wave, and big, bad BlackBerry.
