>> Jeff Bakalar: Hey. What's going on everyone. I'm Jeff Bakalar for CNET.com. Today, we're checking out the IntelliTouch [assumed spelling] EOS [assumed spelling] digital wireless multi-room audio system. Now, the EOS is an iPod speaker dock that can stream music to up to four wireless speakers. Now, the package itself comes with one extra speaker, and you can add up to three more for about $130 each. Aside from an iPod, you can also hook up any external device that can plug into a headphone jack and stream that as well. Now, IntelliTouch claims you'll get around 150-foot range indoors and up to 300 feet outdoors if for some reason you have outdoor outlets readily available. We ran into some range issues indoors, so basically performance will just depend on how many walls the signals actually has to travel through. The speakers come ready to plug into a wall outlet, which isn't always the perfect listening location. You can move the speaker around, but there isn't too much room to work with due to a very short power cable located inside the speaker. Also, all the speakers won't necessarily sync up together so you may have to think twice about whether or not you want more than one speaker in the same room. Set up is very easy, and we had all four speakers working in just under five minutes. The system will also work with any iPod or iPhone as well. Kind of a bummer about the system - it doesn't have an on or off power button. So if you want to power down the product, you're just going to have to yank out the plug on the back, which is kind of strange. Sound quality overall is about average, but for wireless audio, it should satisfy most consumers. The EOS is available for around $250, but take into consideration that you'd probably have to spend around $600 to get a similar experience from a like product. I'm Jeff Bakalar, and this has been the IntelliTouch EOS digital wireless multi-room audio system. [ Music ]

IntelliTouch EOS Digital Wireless Multi-Room Audio System (black) Review

The good: Easy to use and set up; streams audio from iPod and/or any line-in device; can support up to three additional wireless speakers for a total of four.

The bad: Mediocre sound quality; remote only works with base; range issues indoors; occasional audio delays vary by speaker; no power button; short wireless speaker power cable.

The bottom line: The IntelliTouch EOS Digital Wireless Multi-Room Audio System is a reasonable choice for wireless iPod audio--if you can get past the system's occasionally shoddy range performance and overall mediocre sound quality.
