iLuv ReF headphones: Bring on the bass Video Transcript

Hi. I'm David Carnoy, executive editor for cnet.com and I'm here with the iLuv ReF headphone that's why ReF. These RE sort of a premium headphone from iLuv-- they cost around $99 and they're pretty sturdily built. A lot of these types of all new models kinda look the same. There's the urban ears model. This is in the same vein. It's a little bit more spruced up. It's a better built headphone than that so it has a lot of nice pluses. It also with a cloth covered tangle-resistant cord as well as the Apple-friendly inline remote with microphone so a couple of extras there as well as an L-shape plug on the end. The last little design element worth mention is the do fold up so they are fairly compact when you do fold them up, so good for toting around. So all and all, a well designed on-ear headphone. They are considered a bass heavy headphone, a bass lover's headphone. The only problem I have with them is that while there is a lot of bass, they're just isn't a ton of clarity so I don't mind if there's a lot of bass, everybody loves good bass but I would say that they are a little bit lacking and a trouble in the mid range. They just don't have that kind of clean clear sound that I really like in a headphone but if you are a bass lover then maybe worth checking out. Those were the iLuv ReF headphones. Thanks for watching.

iLuv iHP636 ReF - headset Review

The good: The iLuv iHP636 ReF is well built, offers a comfortable fit for an on-ear model, and includes an Apple-friendly remote/microphone and a tangle-resistant fabric covered cord.

The bad: Sound could be cleaner and more refined.

The bottom line: While iLuv ReF headphone has a lot of pluses, including a sturdy, comfortable design, strong bass, and an Apple-friendly inline remote/microphone, it falls short in the clarity department.
