I'll play an error retro gaming hand held fans -- fantasized about taking here iPhone owners iPod -- And turning it effectively into a game here that's right as a old fashioned singing -- here. From may be the ninety's yeah you mid nineties. Well I -- you can do that with thanks to the ion I -- mobile. 870 dollar accessory that works with IOS devices like -- and iPod Touch. You can see the ones inserted right here and much like an old game -- embedded deep -- and buttons you've got shoulder buttons on the back. Now I'm a big hand held gamer I have all -- -- held game systems and I know one of the big beefs about. Hand held touch screen devices like the iPhone is that there are no buttons and there -- -- of great games. Hey wouldn't you like real -- Street Fighter and use -- well not so fast. The IT mobile is an offshoot of the -- hit arcade cabinet that came out last year. And if you use that you know that only a certain number of games work with the IT. It basically fools the iPhone into thinking and it's a keyboard and pairs of it that way you enter a certain number of buttons to. Activated and then your paired and set. And as a result there's no analog control pad here. Which is frustrating. And you can already tell it like games like shooters would work on this there -- number -- fun retro games like Atari arcade greatest hits. Midway arcade as an indie titles that are retro inspired like super great box that work really well yakking away. No they don't they don't work with the IT mobile yet not all of them in fact -- -- -- greatest hits and super great box at this point don't. And I'm sure a lot of them will be updated to work with the I -- mobile we have to basically look and -- website and see which of the games work and which down with the hassle. The ones that do work work really nicely complete -- on this thing and pay. The buttons respond really well but the whole structure of this is big and bulky. Two double A batteries go into the back unit shipments grew -- panel whistle frustrating. And it adds a lot of weight this thing is not pocket sized and lets you -- king size cargo pant pockets. Or enjoy carrying a holster -- with UI it's not as big as a game here but it's getting close it kind of looks like an Atari lynx. And if you're paying seventy dollars for this on top of whatever danger purchasing that's allotted so it doesn't include any games with the package. You know what else can we -- about this is not that -- and that's another downside I think. This looks like a kind of a generic third party gaming peripheral and the buttons are a little rattling -- loose feeling they work but they feel kind of like a little knock off. And this whole rubber holster that keeps your iPhone or iPod Touch and which can also rotate. Keeps against early. But it's. The pokes out of -- on the size doesn't mean it feels like tool we hear when it alarms on here. I can't access your volume buttons are here in the top buttons up here it's just not that pretty. And it does come a little rubber inserts the computer and iPod Touch in there but it feels kind of like -- -- and it's any dollars you'd expect -- a little more elegant than. The ion I -- mobile would be awesome if it worked with a whole bunch of games -- you could download games in the App Store. And you could play any game you wanted. With these controls that would be the fantasy. That's not allowed right now companies are finding it very easy to create a universal controller for the iPhone or iPod Touch. This is I'd guess the next best thing right now although an -- analog pads. And it really adds up to neither here or -- product. That would be -- -- on stocking stuffer for those who like retro games but it's seventy dollars at the expense -- -- -- ever. And we're -- the holidays yet.
