>> Hi, I'm Bonnie Cha, Senior editor at CNET.com and today I've got your First Look at the Verizon Wireless SMT5800. So this is a nice alternative to the Verizon Wireless XV6800, which is for power users, but this more a phone for people who just wanna, kind of manage their e-mail on the road. It's got this nice compact form factor. It's kind of like a cell phone, so you can put in your pants pocket easily or throw it into a bag. One downfall is that this keyboard is a little cramped on the front, but it does slide-up and it's got this nice full QWERTY keyboard for composing messages. And it's pretty easy to use. I was really happy with it. It's running Windows Mobile 6 Standard Edition. It's got push e-mail capability, as well as Bluetooth and EV-DO. There is no Wi-Fi. You do get a little bit of that Windows Mobile sluggishness, but it's not too bad. It's got great call quality. Also there's a camera on the back. It's available now for 249.99 with a two-year contract. And this has been your First Look at the Verizon Wireless SMT5800. ^M00:01:02 [ Music ]

HTC SMT5800 (Verizon Wireless) Review
The good: The Verizon Wireless SMT5800 features a compact design that squeezes in a full QWERTY keyboard. The Windows Mobile 6 smartphone also offers EV-DO; Bluetooth; a 2-megapixel camera; and push e-mail capabilities.
The bad: The SMT5800's navigation controls and dialpad are a bit cramped. Performance can get sluggish at times, and there's no support for Verizon's V Cast services or Windows Live integration.
The bottom line: The Verizon Wireless SMT5800 is a sleek and powerful Windows Mobile smartphone for mobile professionals who want to mange their e-mail on the go.
