Hi this is Brian -- cnet.com. And today we're taking a first look at the HTC Droid incredible four GL TE. This compact Android Smartphone hits Verizon on July 5. For 14999. And as -- can probably guess by its name connects to Verizon's fast four GL TE data network. Now if you're familiar with the HTC Droid incredible series the latest incarnation I have here shouldn't throw you any curves. Just like the -- before it the Droid incredible four GL TE is smaller than your average Android phone sports a four inch screen. And -- muscular static complete with Verizon red highlights. While the incredible four GL TE doesn't come with Google's. Latest and greatest Android for about one jelly bean OS it does have Android four dot -- Ice Cream Sandwich installed. On top of that is the HTC sense for you -- A one point two gigahertz dual core snapdragon S four processor powers the handset. HTC has also added beats audio processing to sweeten the deal. The phones back is textured two plus is raised a bit which is a Droid incredible design staple. Under the tiny battery cover is a 17100 -- and battery and micro SD and four GL TE sim card slots. Thankfully you can access these without touching the battery. Also on back is the phone's eight megapixel camera with LED flash. Above the screen is a VGA resolution front facing camera and below that our capacity buttons to control Android functions. The right side holds a thin volume rocker and on the left side sits a micro USB port. On the top edge of the phone is a 3.5 millimeter headphone Jack and tiny power button. There's an NFC chip inside to. Allowing -- handset to use the new Android -- feature for transferring info between two devices by -- them together. The good: The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE shoehorns fast 4G LTE data and Android Ice Cream Sandwich into a compact, attractive package.
The bad: The Incredible's screen isn't very impressive, its camera isn't as advanced as those on HTC's One series handsets, and its battery life is mediocre.
The bottom line: HTC's Droid Incredible 4G LTE is compact and costs less than Verizon's other smartphones, but it still adds up to a raw deal.
