-Hi, I'm Jessica Dolcourt for CNET, and I'm talking a first look at the HTC Arrive. This is Sprint's first Windows Phone 7 device and then it also happens to be the first CDMA Windows Phone. There are a couple of interesting things about this phone. First of all, it has a tilting screen that goes up at a 30-degree angle. The mechanism here seems pretty sturdy, but I'd say don't try too hard to break it because you might succeed. This also happens to be the first Windows Phone to ship with copy and paste already built in. Copy and paste is really good and it's intuitive, but my one problem with it is that you can copy once and paste once. You can't paste multiple times. There's a 3.6-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen. It's pretty nice but honestly, it could be a little bit better when you compare this to the Super AMOLED of the Samsung Focus for example. Those colors really pop. This is pretty good. It's workable, definitely not a deal breaker. What might be for you is the heft. This is a really thick and heavy phone. It's also got the screw or rivet back here. But, don't worry. That's purely decorative. You're not gonna have to unscrew anything to pop the cover off. There's a 5-megapixel camera on the back with flash and HD video recording, but the camera and the camcorder could be a little bit better though. But it's just fine. The slide out QWERTY keyboard is very responsive and it's pretty comfortable, so that's definitely a plus. What I don't like is that the operating system is still a little bit first generation and so, there are some things that you can't do, like the start screen doesn't switch over into landscape mode. It stays in portrait mode. However, there are some really nice intuitive features on the phone, like the camera app is really, really great to use. Also, I'm a little bit disappointed that there isn't support for 4G WiMAX on this phone. I was hoping for that. 3G speeds are pretty good though, but it's not gonna get super, super fast like some of the other phones on the market. Overall, call quality is nice on this phone, and it is an alternative that I would recommend for Sprint customers. The Arrive is gonna cost you $299 after a mail-in rebate and with a new 2-year service agreement. I'm Jessica Dolcourt. This is the HTC Arrive for Sprint. Let me know what you think about it.

HTC Arrive (Sprint) Review
The good: The HTC Arrive features a durable design with a responsive QWERTY keyboard and a tilting screen. It's the first Windows Phone 7 device to ship with Microsoft's cut-and-paste feature.
The bad: The HTC Arrive's heavy and bulky body will weigh some people down, and it requires some pressure to slide open the keyboard. Its camera could be better, and we were hoping for 4G WiMax support.
The bottom line: The HTC Arrive, Sprint's first Windows 7 phone, is a solid effort that largely delivers, although it will disappoint those looking for a 4G smartphone.
