HP Slate 21 Pro hands-on Video Transcript
Hi, I'm Scott Stein at CES 2014, and one of the more interesting PC products that HP is putting out here is the HP Slate 21 Pro. Now we're seeing Android and Windows combined in some products. Asus is getting into it. Now this is not a Windows computer but it is a 21.5-inch Android all-in-one that does happen to act as a PC monitor. All you have to do is double tap here, click again and now it's gonna mirror and show what's on your Windows PC. Now it's got HDMI input and USB [unk] as well. Now it's also, since it's an Android all-in-one, it's got a quad-core Tegra 4 processor, it's got 16 Gigs of flash storage, it's also got Ethernet, it's got Wi-Fi, it's got Bluetooth, it's got a webcam and there's an optical touch display here that's 1080p. So you're getting that for 399 and remember this also comes with a keyboard and mouse. Pretty good package if you're interested in Android all-in-one. And there's some of business features and software as well including Kingsoft free Office and the ability to connect with Citrix. So that's a look at a way that maybe Android is being targeted to kiosks and small businesses but still functions as a monitor. I'm Scott Stein and that's a look at the HP Slate 21 Pro at CES 2014.
A good set of specs and a crisp-looking screen plus dual HDMI inputs make Vizio's top-end touch-screen PC a decent pick for those who want their computers to double as TVs.
Acer's Iconia W500 consists of a touchscreen slate and a separate keyboard dock that combine to form something close to a traditional laptop.
Stephen Shankland goes hands-on with Google's first touch-screen laptop, the Chromebook Pixel.
The future is here: TouchLight technology, slated to be released by the end of the year, lets users move and manipulate three-dimensional images with their hands. CNET News.com's Neha Tiwari talks with David Harnett, Microsoft's senior director of IP ventures, about how the technology works and what practical uses it will have.
The 7-inch tablet is the first Android slate to feature the Camera Awesome app.
Sony's Vaio LV180J updates its digital-media-oriented all-in-one with a larger LCD, more powerful hardware, and an exceedingly smart method for switching between the Windows desktop and other components connected via the unique HDMI input. No other all-in-one can make as strong a claim as this one as a command center for your digital media.
With its groundbreaking graphical user interface, three HDMI inputs, and excellent sound, the Sony STR-DA5200ES is outstanding and innovative A/V receiver, with only a handful of frustrations--including some video upconversion issues--spoiling the party.
Apple's highest-end 27-inch iMac gets a welcome CPU and graphics card update that, along with its giant display, makes it even more competitive than its best-in-class model was previously. Its high overall appeal makes the absence of an HDMI input particularly glaring, but on balance we can recommend the 27-inch iMac to anyone looking for a large screen, high-end all-in-one.
We get our hands on the newest top-of-the-line Garmin Nuvi and its Smartphone Connect app for Android at CES 2012.
The Yoga's 13-inch screen can flip all the way around and fold flat on the back, turning the laptop into a tablet. Or, it can stand up on its front edges like a tent (called Tent mode). It can also be used with the keyboard side down and the screen bent back, becoming almost like a tiny tabletop touch-screen all-in-one (Stand mode).
