Video description: The Pavilion m7690n Media Center TV PC will play both high-def movies and 3D games, and it's also ready for Windows Vista, for less than $2,000. No other PC we know of can make that claim. If you're in the market for such a system, this is a steal.

>> Hi, I'm Rich Brown, senior editor for CNET.com. Today we're going to take a look at the HP Pavilion M7690N Media Center TV PC. Now this might look like a regular HP desktop, but it's actually pretty innovative. It's the first desktop on the market with an HD DVD player. Now even though this is a media center PC, you can tell by its form factor that it's not really meant to go into the living room. You could connect it to a big television, but it's really more for sticking on or under a desk and plugging into a large LCD monitor. The front panel of the system has a whole lot of interactivity. There's a 16 in 1 media card reader here at the top. Right here you have a Light Scribe DVD burner in dual layer capable. Here's a HD DVD drive. On this slide you have a slot for one of HP's external hard drive and you got the full range of external connectivity right here. As you can see on the back of this system, it really is meant for the desktop. It has two DVI outputs rather than the HDMI output we're used to seeing on more living room friendly PCs. You can also see here the inputs for the TV tuner as well as the wireless WAN. Now the inside you can see it's actually kind of a mess. Reason is because there's so many features inside this thing. At the core of it is a reasonably powerful Intel Core 2 Dual processor. Going to be strong enough for playing high def movies. Along with that you get a 7600 GT Nvidia Graphics card that's also going to be good for movies as well as some light game playing. You can't really upgrade this to a full on game system because the power supply is still pretty small. But in general this is a solid midrange computer and it should do pretty much whatever you want to. I'm Rich Brown and that's the HP Pavilion M7690N Media Center TV PC. ^M00:01:39 [ Music ]
