HP Pavilion g4-1215dx Video Transcript

-I'm Scott Stein senior editor at CNET.com and the holiday season is approaching and you're probably wanna find some laptop bargains. Well, the HP Pavilion g4- 1215dx is close to a door buster special as we have seen this year is going to be about $380 available at best buy and that price is not much more than the price a Netbook. What you're getting for though is a 14-inch laptop. Now the question is, how it the performance side? There is an AMD A4 processor in this laptop and AMD has made this fusion processor throughout the year as competitor to the Intel Core i3 and i5 that you often see. The bottom line on this dual core processor is that it is slower than what you'll find in a Core i3, but it's still really good especially for the price and it's a significant step up for most of those bottom end processors that you kind of see in sub $400 laptops. The graphics are not bad either, although you're not gonna be playing much more than basic games on this, and the design is not bad, I mean, heck, look at this, it's not beautiful, but it's functional. It's not ugly and it has a nice kind of chromish silver charcoal design. You can get other colors for an extra $25 if you so wish, means not gonna blow doors off in a building and it's not gonna surprise people for 380 bucks what do you expect. It's got all the basic things you need, 320 gig hard drive, 4 gigs of RAM that works and it's got a battery life that isn't bad. Overall, it's one of the best budget laptop picks that we've seen this year on a pure dollar to performance ratio. I'm Scott Stein and that's a look at the HP Pavilion g4- 1215dx.
