-Hi. I'm Rich Brown for Cnet. Today, we're gonna take a look at the HP Pavilion 23-1000Z. So the system cost about $700 and for that you got a 23 inch 19x10 display a decent AMD CPU and 1 terabyte hard drive. And this is not a PC you're gonna wanna buy for gaming or heavy duty multimedia editing but for general purpose day to day use, it actually seems like it'd gonna be pretty good. So, for its price, a 23 inch screen in all one is pretty rare. That alone might make this sort of some compelling. At the top here, you got a webcam, pretty standard all in one features. There's a wired mouse and keyboard and for its other hardware features this one is pretty barebones actually. So over here in the right is a DVD player, pretty standard, here on the left side you got 2 USB 3.0 ports which is nice, a couple of analog outputs as well as an SD card slot. Around here in the back, you got Ethernet, 4 standard USB 2.0 jacks and another audio port. Now, the one thing I really would like to see in this PC is the HDMI input which lets you connect to cable box, game console, make this more lot of reversible as a home entertainment component. We got that feature, this is really just a straight forward desktop [unk] point out, this is not a touch screen and with just a mouse and keyboard, there's no extra touch pad like you might find in a newer PC designed for Windows 8. That means if you wanna upgrade to Windows 8 after you buy this PC, you're gonna wanna buy a track pad or some of the device that lets you interact with a touch interface a little more directly. And what I did say the system is not really designed for gaming because it has an AMD CPU, it has a Radeon 7540D Chip built-in for graphics. I couldn't play Sky Realm for example or anything other than the lowest image quality settings but even though it didn't look too bad on the system and it played pretty well. So aside from the big screen, it's really not that many standup features with this PC, that said that along might be enough to compel purchase. So I'm Rich Brown, this is the HP Pavilion 23-1000Z.
This Gateway all-in-one has a touch screen, but that might be the least interesting thing about it. With a 23-inch display, a Blu-ray drive, and competitive performance, the ZX6900-01e offers an impressively capable system for under $1,000.
An affordable smartphone, the Acer Liquid Z5 is big-screen budget option.
HP's hot new Pavilion HDX weighs 15.5 pounds, has a 20-inch screen, and is a laptop in name only. This mobile home theater has a huge screen and a dockable remote control, and it should come with a weight belt.
Budget shoppers take note: the extremely aggressively-priced HP Pavilion g4-1215dx is a perfect laptop pick for those who want a basic cheap computer. It's hard to find a decent laptop for less--and we've seen lesser laptops that cost more.
At CES 2007, we take a look at the HP Pavilion tx1000. This laptop converts into a tablet that can be controlled with your fingertips and comes with a nice glossy screen, a remote control, and two headphone jacks.

The big-screened and affordable 17-inch Vaio E17 has lots of features, but no touchscreen, and a small trackpad. Does that kill its Windows 8 appeal?
The HP Pavilion a6620f makes a decent case for its budget price. We like the design and the built-in digital-audio ports, and if you're on an unbreakable budget, the a6620f will get you through a variety of processes, but we recommend saving up for a system that will give you a more powerful set of components for a negligible price difference.
If you're looking for a general-purpose desktop or a small, affordable PC to send media files to your TV, the HP Pavilion Slimline s7600e should be your pick.
