-Hi. I'm Rich Brown for Cnet. Today, we're gonna take a look at the HP Pavilion 23-1000Z. So the system cost about $700 and for that you got a 23 inch 19x10 display a decent AMD CPU and 1 terabyte hard drive. And this is not a PC you're gonna wanna buy for gaming or heavy duty multimedia editing but for general purpose day to day use, it actually seems like it'd gonna be pretty good. So, for its price, a 23 inch screen in all one is pretty rare. That alone might make this sort of some compelling. At the top here, you got a webcam, pretty standard all in one features. There's a wired mouse and keyboard and for its other hardware features this one is pretty barebones actually. So over here in the right is a DVD player, pretty standard, here on the left side you got 2 USB 3.0 ports which is nice, a couple of analog outputs as well as an SD card slot. Around here in the back, you got Ethernet, 4 standard USB 2.0 jacks and another audio port. Now, the one thing I really would like to see in this PC is the HDMI input which lets you connect to cable box, game console, make this more lot of reversible as a home entertainment component. We got that feature, this is really just a straight forward desktop [unk] point out, this is not a touch screen and with just a mouse and keyboard, there's no extra touch pad like you might find in a newer PC designed for Windows 8. That means if you wanna upgrade to Windows 8 after you buy this PC, you're gonna wanna buy a track pad or some of the device that lets you interact with a touch interface a little more directly. And what I did say the system is not really designed for gaming because it has an AMD CPU, it has a Radeon 7540D Chip built-in for graphics. I couldn't play Sky Realm for example or anything other than the lowest image quality settings but even though it didn't look too bad on the system and it played pretty well. So aside from the big screen, it's really not that many standup features with this PC, that said that along might be enough to compel purchase. So I'm Rich Brown, this is the HP Pavilion 23-1000Z.

HP Pavilion 23-1000z Review
The good: The HP Pavilion 23's giant, 23-inch display is uncommon in all-in-one PCs under $700.
The bad: The low price means slow performance and few extras. The lack of an HDMI input hurts the most.
The bottom line: HP has made an aggressive move in the budget PC space with this big-screen all-in-one that will serve as an affordable, generally capable home computer.
