>> I'm Dan Ackerman, and we are here at CES 2010. And what I've got here is a sequel to one of my favorite netbooks of all time. This is the HP Mini 5102, obviously the sequel to the HP Mini 5101. Now, both of those are from HP's business line, which means they look and feel a little bit different than regular consumer netbooks, although there's certainly no reason a consumer can't use one of these. They're a little bit more rugged, a little bit more sturdy than your average plastic netbook. It's made out of aluminum and magnesium alloy. HP's always had fantastic netbook keyboards. We've still got there here. And HP's also transitioning all of their netbooks, really, to have a more normal touchpad, with the touchpad and the do buttons on the bottom, rather than the left and right side that they've had on some of their models. We've got a 10-inch screen. This version is 10 by 6, but there's also a higher resolution, 13 by 7 option available. And you can even upgrade and get a touchscreen, which is something you certainly don't see very often on a netbook. So if you're looking for a great small business netbook, or you're just a consumer, want something a little bit more rugged than your average classic netbook, you should definitely check out this new guy right here. At CES 2010, I'm Dan Ackerman, and this is the HP Mini 5102. ^M00:01:14 [ Music ]

HP Mini 5102 Review

Editors' rating

The good: New Intel Atom processor; excellent build quality.

The bad: Some basic options can quickly drive up the price; small touch pad.

The bottom line: HP's sturdy and stylish Mini 5102 is a slight upgrade to one of our favorite Netbooks, but we had hoped for a little more fresh thinking for 2010.
