>> Hi, I'm Bonnie Cha, Senior editor at CNET.com and today we are taking a First Look at the HP iPAQ 910c Business Messenger. If the name didn't give it away, this is a messaging-centric smartphone for business users. It's got tons of features, but I am not a huge fan of the design. It's a little bit bulky and heavy. It has a touch screen, but it's a little bit small. Also, the keyboard, it has roomy buttons, but it's pretty stiff to press, so that's one thing you wanna be aware of. As far as features, it is running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition. It's also stacked with wireless options, 3G HSDPA. Also, as well as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. You can actually use this as a standalone GPS without a SIM card if you want it to and it comes preloaded with Google Maps. Performance was pretty good and I was a little bit disappointed with the call quality actually. The speakers on here are really soft. I wasn't too heavy with that. Also, it's gonna run you about $500 since it's not with the U.S. carrier, so that's pretty expensive. For that reason, I think it's gonna have a little bit of a tough time competing with some other likes of HTC, Samsung, and Motorola, but if you can afford it, it is a good messaging device and I'm Bonnie Cha and this has been your First Look at the HP iPaQ 910c Business Messenger. ^M00:01:19 [ Music ]

HP iPAQ 910c Business Messenger Review

The good: The HP iPaq 910c Business Messenger features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 3G support. The Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone also offers strong messaging capabilities with a full QWERTY keyboard, and a 3-megapixel camera.

The bad: The iPaq 910c is bulky and the screen size is a bit small. The smartphone is expensive and can be sluggish at times. The phone's speaker is also on the soft side.

The bottom line: The HP iPaq 910c offers mobile professionals a well-stocked, messaging-centric smartphone, but it faces stiff competition from the likes of HTC, Samsung, and Motorola.
