>> Hi, I'm Bonnie Cha, senior associate editor at CNET.com. And today we've got a first look of the HP IPack 510 Voice Messenger. This is actually the first Windows Mobile sticks device we've got our hands on. And its actually kind of a departure from HP's other smart phones. It's got more of a cell phone look and feel to it. And it's running the equivalent of the smart phone edition from Windows Mobile 5. So we've got this compact phone factor, like I said. Keyboard is a little bit cramped. This navigation toggle especially. But the great thing about this device is it has some advanced voice command features. So you can actually dictate to the phone. No training required and it works really well. Play music.

>> About a 1 point 3 mega pixel camera on the back and a micro SD slot on the left spine. With Windows Mobile 6, you get some new features, enhanced email capabilities and calendar function. It also synchronizes with Windows Vista and you also got Windows Live for mobiles. So you can search the web easily and sign into your messenger account as well. Also, if you send them a third application, you now get the full Microsoft Office Mobile Suite so you can open and edit Word, Excel and Power Point documents. Call quality was good but speaker phone quality wasn't that great actually. Our caller sounded far away and they reported the same. So something to be aware of. A carrier hasn't been announced yet, but it will probably either be Cingular or T Mobile. At launch it'll cost about 300 dollars. I'm Bonnie Cha and this has been the HP IPack 510 Voice Messenger.

HP iPaq 510 Voice Messenger Review
The good: The HP iPaq 510 Voice Messenger features advanced voice-command functions and the new Windows Mobile 6 operating system with enhanced e-mail functions and Office Mobile tools. The smart phone also has a compact design, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and VoIP capabilities.
The bad: Unfortunately, the iPaq 510's speakerphone quality was subpar, and there is no support for 3G. The phone's keypad and navigation controls also are cramped, and it has a lower resolution screen.
The bottom line: Despite some niggling design flaws and the lack of 3G support, the HP iPaq 510 Voice Messenger offers outstanding voice-command features as well as the enhanced productivity tools of Windows Mobile 6.
