>> Hi, I'm Matt Elliot, section editor with CNET Reviews. And this is the HP Pavilion DV41155SE. It's a retail laptop sold in big box stores. The SE stands for special edition. What's so special about it? Well back here we've got some graphics, sort of a vaguely Japanese wave line drawing, kind of nice. And it extends here on the wrist rest as well, otherwise it's a pretty standard Pavilion laptop, silver and black body, glossy screen. This unit actually features what HP calls a frameless display, which means the glass overlay on the screen extends to the edge of the lid here. Another unique feature on this laptop is its huge extended cell battery here. As you can see, it kind of sticks out of the bottom. This is a fourteen inch laptop. Most fourteen inch laptops weigh just over five pounds, this one's at about six point three pounds. But the battery also kind of has an awkward design. It runs, it's about three quarters of the way across the width of the laptop. So if you have this on your lap, it's gonna kind of tilt to one side. It's got kind of a silver, shiny, glossy keyboard. The touch pad is also glossy, which kind of creates a bit of drag on your fingertips. It just doesn't have the best feel. Unfortunately for AMD it uses a Tirion [assumed spelling] X2 processor, which just can't keep up with the Intel competition. Although it does have ATI's new integrated graphics solution, the Radeon XD3200, which proved to be a little bit more powerful than Intel's current integrated solution. On the top here, some nice touch sensitive media control keys, let's you play, pause, fast forward, rewind. And right above the touch pad here is a small button that disables and enables the touch pad. So if you're using a mouse, you can disable the touch pad, and you won't accidentally bump and move your cursor. And finally, along the edge here, you'll see a couple of UBS ports. One of the UBS ports actually doubles as an Esada [assumed spelling] port for fast data transfers, if you happen to have an Esada external hard drive. And you also get HDMI out if you want to connect this to your HDTV. [ background music ] I'm Matt Elliot, and this is the HP Pavilion DV41155SE special edition laptop. ^M00:01:56 [ music ]
