>> Brian Tong: What's up? I'm Brian Tong, and welcome to the Apple Byte. Yes, I'm back after a nice little vacation, and a lot has happened since I've been gone so Steveo [assumed spelling], we wish you well, and we'll see you in June. Now, let's get to the news. Apple reported their best quarter ever. The big "A" posted a record quarterly revenue of over 10 billion dollars and a net quarterly profit of over 1.6 billion dollars for Q1 in fiscal 2009. [cash register ringing] Record iPod sales and solid Mac sales were the standouts, and even in this tight economy, Steve Jobs and company continue to perform even if Macworld wasn't all that. Now, because it was so lackluster, we're crossing our fingers that something good will be dropping soon, but if you didn't notice, Apple's online store quietly updated the specs of their entry-level white Macbook recently. The updated version sports a 2 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor with a faster front side buss [phonetic] and then video 9400 M graphics card and 2 gigs of RAM for the same price as before. So it's pretty much up to speed with the unibody Macbooks without the multi-touch track pad, and since we're talking about new products, Gene Munster of Piper Jaffrey recently predicted, wait for it, Apple will likely produce a netbook in the next two years. Are you for real? Do these guys really get paid to come up with this stuff? It's almost as good as me saying, "Hey, guys, something new will be announced at Macworld." Yeah, OK, whatever Apple does, it won't be like the $400 netbook that's in the market right now because Apple just doesn't play there. Alright, let's see what's the iPhone app of the week brought to you by our friends at download.com. We're going to spin this a little because this week, it's all about an app you do not want to get. Alright, it's called Mood Touch. It's .99 cents, and the premise of that, you touch the screen and it uses special sensors in the iPhone to measure your current emotional state. Now, this is the first time I've ever tried it, and I'm not going to entirely hate on it yet, so you know, let's give it a chance. I'm going to touch here. OK. It's analyzing it.
