Hands-on with Lenovo's limber IdeaPad Yoga 13 laptop Video Transcript
-Hi, I'm Rich Brown for CNET. We're here at Lenovo's big unveiling for its Windows 8 laptops. So, we saw this one at CES earlier this year. Here we're seeing a closer look to Windows 8 obviously. So this is a convertible laptop. Here it's in its standard mode and it's a touchscreen of course. Now, this unique hinge design folds down into Tablet mode. What Lenovo is also talking about here is a couple other uses of these models. This is Stand mode. It sort of wants to show off. And here's this Tent mode. You can see the screen responds once you get into position. So, it's a 13-inch screen. It weighs just over 3 pounds. It's gonna start at $1099 at Best Buy for a Core i5 CPU in here. For its port, it's actually pretty sparse. You have an SD card slot here, USB 3. Right here, we have full-blown HDMI, USB 3, audio jack, [unk] system. We'll get it in a couple of weeks hopefully to review on top of Windows 8 Launch. I'm Rich Brown. This is Lenovo Yoga 13.

Lenovo's IdeaPad Yoga 13 splits the difference between tablet and laptop (hands-on)
The Yoga's 13-inch screen can flip all the way around and fold flat on the back, turning the laptop into a tablet. Or, it can stand up on its front edges like a tent (called Tent mode). It can also be used with the keyboard side down and the screen bent back, becoming almost like a tiny tabletop touch-screen all-in-one (Stand mode).

A blessing or a curse? The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 tablet includes a built-in keyboard that never detaches. Where I'm from we call that a laptop.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 Review
The good: The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 looks as good as any 13-inch ultrabook, with the added attraction of a 360-degree screen and a laptop body that can fold into a tent, stand, or slate.
The bad: Tablet mode leaves the keyboard exposed, and the Yoga 13 costs more than standard ultrabooks with similar components.
The bottom line: The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 is a convertible touch-screen laptop/tablet that most importantly doesn't compromise the traditional laptop experience.
