>> Jessica Dolcourt: Hi, this is Jessica Dolcourt, from CNET download.com.

>> And this is a first look at Guitar Hero Mobile. The Mobile version is fairly true to the popular console game, which is pretty impressive because everything here is a lot smaller. There are fewer characters, fewer songs, and obviously no guitar. There are two characters from Guitar Hero III, Judy Nails and Axel Steel. Right now, you can only pick one guitar, a Les Paul because the other three are locked until you prove some skill. There are a few different ways to get started, you can go into quick-play for example to try out a new song or you can go into career mode, which will track your scores for each song throughout various levels. You can also compare your scores with other Mobile Guitar heroes by going into leader board and creating an account. As you can see, all of the Guitar Hero Mobiles starter songs are taken directly from the console game, it takes a minute to download a new song, but after that it store directly on your phone. The game play is pretty intuitive, instead of guitar buttons, you have keypad buttons that stand in for the frets, you can use any key in the column to play a color. So one, four and seven activate green. Two, five and eight activate red. And three, six and nine activate yellow.

>> Jessica Dolcourt: You have to hold down on a key if it's a long note. ^M00:01:08 [ Music ] ^M00:01:10

>> And pressing the star key activates star power.

>> Jessica Delcourt: The graphics are really rich on this high-end phone, though handsets that are more basic will only show 2D graphics. Right now, the game is only available on Verizon phones, but it will expand to other carriers in the next few months. To get the link, text Rock to 46966, and don't forget to check out the full review on CNET download.com. I'm Jessica Dolcourt.
